Sandboarding on Stradbroke Island
Once on the island, you’ll see all the sights, including Brown Lake where you can take a swim from the lake’s white-sand beaches. A natural spa, the lake is named for the natural tea tree that gives its waters therapeutic qualities.
Take a walk through the gorge to the island’s headland at Point Lookout, where water blows up from Whale Rock. You’ll spot turtles swimming in the water below you, or perhaps dolphins and manta rays. In winter, from May to October, keep your eyes peeled for migrating humpback whales.
Away from the water, you might see kangaroos lazing in the sun or koalas in the gum trees chewing eucalyptus leaves. You’ll also visit the island’s main resorts, including Cylinder, Frenchman’s Beach, Dunwich and the fishing village of Amity. At Myora Springs, hear about the battle that occurred here in colonial times between the military and local Aborigines.
During your tour, make stops for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea (own expense). After lunch, enjoy free time to explore North Stradbroke Island at your leisure, or if you’ve chosen the upgrade, go sandboarding down the island’s dunes. Instruction and professional equipment are provided.

I had a excellent day. Couldn't believe we saw so many koalas and kangaroos. Guide was very good. Ferry trip over was excellent. Swim in Brown Lake I will remember for long time. Island is very beautiful even though when i went weather was not very good. But I really enjoyed this trip and would recommend it.
