I enjoyed most of the trip except the part when we were dropped off in the RED Light district Since we had kids with we were not planning to go on the walking tour through it, we did not have much to do. Felt like we were just dumped off for 3 hours.
Would have loved to see the famous Amsterdam flower markets or anything else that is cultural.
Loved the trip to the farm where we saw making of cheese and clogs. The presenter there was very good and so was our guide for the tour.
The tour was very well organised. My wife and I really enjoyed the day. The guide was very informative and helpful. Would recommend it.
My wife and I had an enjoyable day in Amsterdam. The weather was beautiful and we had a chance to walk around and go on the canal tour. The tour of the farm was satisfactory...but something that was unnecessary. I would have preferred to spend more time in the city. Also, the tour guide didn't provide any historic/background information on Amsterdam, besides a small speech about drugs and prostitutes. Overall, it may be better taking the train from Brussels to Amsterdam. This would allow more time in the city and avoid traffic.
the bus picked us from the hotel and the guide was very nice. all through the trip ,he went on explaining all the things in three languages, We would like to take the Viator trips again and recommend to our friends.
This day trip is one you shouldn't miss! On the way to Amsterdam you stop at a farm and also stop to see a windmill! How cool! Once you arrive in Amsterdam you ave the choice to wander off on your own for a few hours or go on a boat canal tour. We chose the boat, it was truly beautiful. Afterwards we still had time to check out the red light district but not enough time to stroll as much as we would have liked. I still enjoyed our day trip to Amsterdam. It's one that shouldn't missed!
It was really a very good trip and I enoyed very much. The countryside and the farm was even more interested that Amsterdam. The only remark I have is related to the fact that the tourist guide had to speak in 4 languages and this was lenthy and confusing.
What a place. Great day in beautiful surroundings. The canal boat ride was superb.
The tour guide met us at the hotel on time and led us to the bus where we got the opportunity to see the city of Brussels as he explained the sites in three languages. He was informative and professional. We stopped at the cheese farm which was interesting and we then went on a canal cruise of Amsterdam which was fantastic. Not enough time in the city but overall a great day and well worth the money and time.
Good and informative tour. Wish we would of had more a little time to explore Amsterdam on our own.
the bus picked us up in our apartment hotel, was so worried about going to our meeting place till someone called from their office and told us they will pick us up, thumbs up!
We stopped at a cheese and clog farm and although aimed at the tourists, was worth the stop for the host with a great sense of humor and informative information and demonstrations on cheese and clog making. Next a stop at a windmill and then into Amsterdam with it's many canals and bicycles. The optional canal tour was definitely worth going on and it still left us lots free time to explore the city center. Very knowledgeable tour guide who provided many interesting facts all throughout the tour.
Despite the rain, the trip was a wonderful one. Just wished we had time more time in the town area and did certain stops during the boat ride, one in particular is Anne Frank's house.
Excellent Day. Good overview of Amsterdam and all leading up to it. Guide was excellent. Thank you for a great day.
As this was suppose to be a 12 1/2 Day trip getting away late was not a good start. At last we are on the way the guide is very informative and points out all the interesting spots along the way we cross the Border and find our first Windmill (Photo Stop) we head to a local craft centre, Clog Making, Cheese and Pottery but by the time everyone uses the toilet the stop was really pointless. Back on the bus we head for Amsterdam our first stop is the Canal Boat Ride a must do( about 8Euro if I remember correctly) after the ride we are back on the bus head for the town square given a departure time and off you go to explore , Lunch then the Red Light District a bit of shopping, photos then it is back to the bus for the LONG trip back to Brussels. This trip only ended up being 11 Hours which is quite annoying as an extra Hour or so in Amsterdam would have been great. If you have time it is a good tour but a lot of time spent on the bus
Found Amsterdam to be a busy bustling city. Really enjoyed our trip there, through the countryside. The boat ride on the Amsterdam canals was great as well.
Although the weather was awful the trip was very well orginised. We just started heading back a bit earlier than scheduled. A non obligatory visit in a museum during the free time would be a perfect addition.
We enjoyed our trip for the most part but felt we did not have enough free time in Amsterdam itself (only a little over 2 hours). The stop at the cheese and wooden shoe farm was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We had no idea the boat tour was not included and barely had enough cash between our group to cover the expense. Fortunately our guide accepted other currencies. We felt it should have been included in the tour price, however. Overall, we enjoyed the tour but felt our time in Amsterdam was a bit too rushed.
Overall, it was great and everything went as anticipated. The only issue was that there was really no reason to leave Amsterdam during rush hour and being stuck in traffic for a while, when we could have easily benefitted from some extra free time and avoided the wasted time on the bus.
the trip was good, guide was very good and very informative...the boat ride in amserdam was very good...overall a good and noce experience
It was a nice tour from Brussels to Amsterdam, and we had some free time in Amsterdam, not much surprisings. And the boat is really nice which is not included in the tour.
The trip was very enjoyable. The guide was helpful and knowledgeable. We got to see the most important landmarks of Amsterdam during the lovely boat ride in the canals. The stopover at the farm selling cheese and clogs was a nice little surprise and there I bought some of the best cheese I've ever eaten. Only, the free time of almost 3 hours in Dam Square in the afternoon was a little too much and could have been better utilized by taking us to see some other places within Amsterdam.
I really enjoyed the tour. We had two or three hours in downtown Amsterdam which was quite enough for a day trip. I also enjoyed the canal tour.
It takes only two hours to get to Amsterdam from Brussels, which is great. The bus was comfortable but it was so cold inside. We asked the driver to turn the heating on but he said it was already on and that it was set on 20 C. Believe me, I wasn't the only one complaining about the heating.
The tour guide was so unkind and gloomy. He spoke English and Spanish very well but he was unpleasant the entire time. Everything else was just great!
Really nice tour, well organised. Did not rate boat trip very highly. Free time was essential and appreciated.
This trip provides a nice overview of Amsterdam but do not expect to be able to visit any museums because there isn't time. I did walk to Anne Frank's house to see the exterior, but there wasn't enough time to wait in the long line to see inside. Our tour guide walked us over to the Red Light District for "window shopping" and gave really good instructions on how to get back to the meeting location after our free time. I think the boat ride on the canal should definitely be included in the cost because it is the best way to get an overview of the city and every member of our tour was willing to spend the additional 13€ each. The Clog and Cheese side trip is very enjoyable. The owner of the farm is very personable and made an effort to involve everyone in our group. I did not feel pressure to purchase anything in the gift shop after the demonstrations. And the cheese is delicious! I will have to go back to Amsterdam someday to get a more thorough experience of the city, but this trip was an enjoyable way to spend the day.
