The guide was very knowledgeable and willing to field questions. We learned a lot about Brussels, Ghent and Bruges. Picking up and dropping us off at our hotel was helpful since it was the first day in town.
Let me say, I am not a fan of bus tours. Don't like being stuck on a bus with 50 other people half of which are sick and will give me some sort of sickness I may never get over. That being said, I decided to take a chance and do this one.
I was in Paris so elected to take high speed train to Brussels and hook up with tour there. End result was a day very well spent with a tour that was very satisfying and informative. Guide was well spoken, very friendly on personal level, knowledgeable and was never at a loss in answering questions. I should add, he was experienced at his trade with over 20 years in the tour business. Fine with me. I like experienced people who know how to get it done. He recommended a particular restaurant for lunch in Bruges. I am always suspect of that because I know they have a "deal" with establishments but on other hand, why would they recommend only to have a patron disappointed? Going with that, purchased lunch and even the dish he sort of pushed. Outstanding!!! If you choose this tour, go with it. Restaurant server was very friendly and attentive too, even knowing we would never be back. I especially appreciate that. Had adequate amount of free time at both Gent and Bruges considering it was only a day trip. I could go on with my personal recommendations but will spare you. Suffice to say, I enjoyed the day to the max and completely recommend this tour. As a side note, I also very much appreciate their concern regarding my travels. I had a train to catch back to Paris and they didn't want me to have to endure a delay so they shuttled me to one of their "pick up" hotels across from south train station from which I had to leave. Very impressive they cared and made effort so I wouldn't have to get myself to station through train transfers from another station. Was topic of discussion between me and tour guide. They care!
Want to have a satisfying day tour to Gent and Bruges...just take this tour and quit fretting.
Tour was very well organized probably one of the Best tour, I have really enjoy the two walking tour in Ghent and Bruges and the lunch in Bruges was lovely the restaurant was really good.
The only bad think was that when I have arrived at the agency actually 20 minutes before 9 the guy at the front office toll me to go back after 15 minutes, I have noticed that couple of people were seating there. when I came back the two people were still seating there and they were on the tour with me ... I don't understand why as been offer a seat to them and I have to stay out 15 minutes on the nice cold....everybody should have the same treatments
Lovely tour. Well explained. The audio commentary and the explanation from the Tour Guide was exceptional! I like it. Bruges is worth it. ;)
Love! Love! Love! When in Belgium Ghent and Bruges are a must see! Lovely cities, and the tour was great! I would recommended it 100%
Ghent and Bruges are a must to visit. Both cities give you a great reference to life in Belgium. The buildings and landscape is very beautiful and the canal cruise in Bruges was great! Would recommend this tour.
Fantastic day out. Ghent and Bruges are beautiful towns to visit. It was a relaxed pace all day and lots to see. The guide was very informative and kept everyone interested. It was good to mix with people from all over the world. Excellent trip and well worth it. Thanks.
Wonderful trip, very well organized with a great tour guide. They came to pick us up from the hotel as all the other people from the group, around 9.00am. After, he headed to Ghent, where we had a stop and a big walk around this picturesque town, made some pictures and headed off to Bruges. There, we had an introductionary walk around the town, time for lunch and after, we did a beautiful trip on the small boat on the canals of Bruges. After the boat trip there was a time on our own to explore or just to rest (in our case) around the wonderful town square for about an hour. When the time was up, at around 5pm we headed back to Brussels with a little stop on the way to the bus into the chocolate shop :))) If you have to go on your own by train, bus or even with a car it is not going to be possible to see and to learn so many things for such a short time. We always use VIATOR when travel at least once and sometimes 2-3 times per trip. Speacial thanks to Viator team!!!!
We loved this choice. The guide tour was very nice to everybody, smart , he knew how to make us interested in the tour and was a funny guy and told us the histories and lot of details during the trip to Ghent and Brugges
