Luxembourg Day Trip from Brussels: Two Countries in One Day

Board a comfortable coach in Brussels with your guide for a scenic drive through the green hills of the Belgian Ardennes to Bastogne. This town is famous for being the site of an infamous battle in 1944 between American and German forces. With your guide, visit the Mardasson Memorial, an impressive monument built to honor the American soldiers killed during the terrible battle.

Continue with an hour’s ride to the landlocked country of Luxemburg. Upon arrival, your local guide will take you on a sightseeing tour through the capital, Grand Duchy. See the modern city, which forms part of the European Union. After lunch, continue to the historical city center, where you’ll have free time to explore at your own leisure.

At the end of your two-country day trip, journey through the picturesque rolling hills of the Ardennes to reach Brussels by mid-evening.

This excursion included a brief stopover at Bastogne before arriving to Grand Duchy, capital of Luxembourg. Would be better if there was a 30 minute stop in town of Bastogne where we could purchase some souvenirs that commemorate the Battle of the Bulge and take a photo with the Sherman tank displayed in the town centre. The stop over at the American war memorial was too quick to allow visiotrs to read the inscriptions on the walls. The walking tour of Grand Duchy's Old Town was comprehensive, covering the entire place on the crest and down the valley. Very picturesque. No picture stop at new city unfortunately. At least one stop to take proper photos would be better instead of a quick orientation tour in the bus.
