Your small-group cycling tour begins on Andrassy Boulevard and at the Opera house. Ride to Heroes Square and city park along the tree lined boulevard where you will learn about Hungarian history and culture before biking through the park to Vajdahunyad castle complex. Continue back to the city center and down to St Stephen's Basilica, named after the first Hungarian King. After visiting the beautiful church and square you will ride to Liberty Square for a picture of the last Soviet remembrance, then on to Parliament, the second largest in Europe with its huge neo-gothic facade.

Next, cross the mighty Danube river over the first and oldest bridge, the Chain Bridge. Now at the foot of the Buda Castle your guide will talk about the sights and stories surrounding you before a leisurely ride up the old road to the base of the Royal Palace. A break here allows you to view the UNESCO World Heritage lookout panorama where here you can capture the best views of Budapest. Ride through the old castle district streets to the Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion, followed by your reward - the ride back down! On the back road of the castle coast in comfort to the green park of the Taban and back over to the Pest side, bringing your tour to a leisurely end. An excellent way of seeing the sights. Thought I may have had problems as I hadn't ridden a bike for many, many years, however, no problems at all! Thoroughly enjoyable! Would certainly do it again.

This was a fabulous tour, the it ended up just being myself and my mum... (ideal!) and our fantastic guide who was informative, really great fun, and we had four hours of tremendous culture, history, exercise and banter! My mum was really worried not having ridden a bike for a while and the fact she has arthritic knees, but she had need not worry! The free drink and hungry pastry tasting was amazing...we ended up with 6 pastries and they were awesome! We had such a great day, and i think cycling (i am slightly biased being a cycle instructor/coach!!!) is the only and best way to really experience a city. The bikes were of good standard and the city geared towards cyclists so really in a nutshell, you would be silly not to do this tour, go on, you will NOT regret it!!! (treat yourself to a authentic thai massage after! boy that will blow your socks off!!!)
