based on Your tour begins with an interior visit of the magnificent neo-gothic Parliament (Home of the Holy Hungarian Crown). Be guided through the splendid session room, the impressive staircase and the wonderful Great Vaulted Hall.
The Parliament was built between 1885 and 1902, and was at the time the largest parliamentary building in the world. The building has a length of 879 feet (268 meters) and is 387 feet (118 meters) wide. The parliament house contains more than 12 miles (20 kilometers) of staircase, and 691 rooms. The elegant dome has a height of 226 feet (69 meters).
The main style of the building is neo-gothic with renaissance influences, but the base ground plan is Baroque. A strong Byzantine influence is noticeable in the interior of the building, especially in the marvelously decorated staircase hall. A true masterpiece and one of Budapest's finest architectural splendors.
You will then enjoy a city tour of Budapest, on which you will cross the Danube on the Margaret Bridge (Margaret Island) and drive to the Royal Castle on the Buda side. Here you will visit the Fishermen's Bastion (Promenade) and the Matthias Church (Interior visit).
After a photo stop at the Citadel, you will cross Elizabeth bridge and drive passed the City Park towards Heroes' square (Promenade). Passing by the Opera and St. Stephen's Basilica you reach Hotel Intercontinental, where your tour ends.
