This trip was really good and well worth the money. I was a little confused at first as to how to use our tickets but after printing off all the vouchers it was simple. the bus was great for seeing the main sights ( always on time) cruise was also very good for hop on and hop off. The restuarant meal was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The coffee and cake cafe was also really nice, had a nice old fashioned atmosphere. I would do this trip again.
Provides the opportunity to see all the city highlights. Easy to use and frequent pick ups and drop offs. Check beforehand, many of the attractions do not open until late afternoon or close at one if you take the hop on /hop off on a weekend
Excellent way to see Budapest. Hop on Hop Off bus very clean and efficient and great value for money. Cake and coffee/Dinner excellent. Would do it again.
Glad we did this tour. Great way to see the city and also eat at good places. Great desert at Girbuad (specializes in deserts;not to sure on the spelling) but we also at lunch their, very good. Dinner was also delicious. Great City to visit!!! Also easy to get around in this city.
Excellent package apert from the failure to deliver tickets to the hotel. This meant that there was a 30 minute argument in the coffee shop even though they had proff of the copy printed from the internet to say it had been paid for.
The evening meal was fun - but far too much food!
The boat was a scow we left before starting and found a very nice reasonably priced cruise on our own; the restaurant was so remote from the activity we didn't bother...better to do the HOHO and configure the rest from there.
We felt this tour was overpriced and the lunch location was inappropriate. The restaurant was not on the bus line and we had a difficult time finding it. It took about 15 min. walking there in a district we weren't familiar with and the food wasn't that good. We felt it was a waste of our time. It would have been better if we could have had a 48 hour tour like they were selling on the street, and also if the restaurants were easy to find and right on the tour route. As it was, we only had time to use one of the meal vouchers and did not have time for the 1 hr. boat ride because we used the bus to get around to the different sightseeing attractions.
The bus tour and the river cruise were entertaining. We were really disappointed that we didn't get to have the lunch (which was included in the cost of the tour) as the restaurant that supplied the lunch (Restaurant Kaltenberg) was too far a distance for us to get to. The tour staff had no idea where the restaurant was and after asking several people and being told that it was three metro stops away we gave up and bought our own lunch. So all in all we were quite disappointed and wouldn't recommend the combo tour. VIATOR47695896.
Decent tour, but the buses are quite old and shaky. The Hungarian lunch or dinner was horrible since the restaurant has an arrangement with the local tour company to just get groups of tourists in the place and give them very bad food.
The cruise was interesting but very short, so overall, this tour can be skipped and a better one chosen (like the one with the visit to the Parliament building).
Tons of hop on hop off tours in Budapest - hard to figure out where to get on the bus initially with our voucher the company didn't seem to know what to make of the vouchers. The lunch and cake at Gerbaud were ok but the staff seemed unfamiliar with our voucheres. The hop on hop off bus moved so slowly - we got off after about 1/2 hour and just walked every where else we wanted to go. We didn't even use the river cruise portion -it was just too frustrating!
There are several reasons why I would not recommend this option.
There information on tickets and where to go for the various elements is not clear. The tickets were not left at the hotel. They were however e-mailed after the hotel contacted Viator on our behalf, but without any instructions relating to the two venues for the meal and coffee. This is not however the reason why I would not recommend the combo.
The problem is just that it was very poor value. The Hop on Hop off bit was fine - but could have been bought for about £15. This already included the river boat 'trip' which was 45 minutes in reality, but OK. I would recommend that people do this in Budapest as it is good for seeing all the main tourist sites. The cafe for the coffee and cake was very nice, but the restaurant for the meal was very off the beaten track and the meal was not very good and had no choice at all. So in terms of the extra money paid for the other bits I thoughts it was very poor value and not a good choice.
