What You Can Expect

Budapest Sightseeing Tour by Bike with Lunch

See the highlights of beautiful Budapest on a fun bike tour

Begin your tour in central Budapest. Once you’ve received a brief safety overview, you’ll head out with your guide through the city. The selected route for the tour travels through bike lanes and mainly flat terrain for a leisurely sightseeing experience.

Pass the neo-Renaissance Opera House as you cruise down Andrassy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After some explanation from your guide, you’ll steer your wheels toward Heroes’ Square, well known for its iconic statues of the seven Magyar chieftains. Nearby lies the foliage of Budapest’s City Park, where you’ll find Vajdahunyad Castle.

From there, bike toward the cupola of the Széchenyi Baths. Built in 1908, you’ll take a peek at the thermal pools before heading back toward central Budapest. Gaze up at the towering structure of St. Stephen’s Basilica and take a brief stop in front of the House of Terror, a museum documenting Hungarian history during World War II and Communist rule.

Then, as you make your way across the Chain Bridge, you’ll pass the stunning architecture of the Parliament Building, home to the Holy Crown of Hungary.

Head up the Buda Castle District, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Your guide will discuss the historical and political importance of the area while you pause for a picture in front of the Royal Palace and the brightly-tiled roof of Matthias Church.

Then pedal to an open-air restaurant to rest your legs and reward your belly with a hot bowl of Hungarian goulash, before returning to your original departure point.

Very informative guide and the bikes are very good. A great way to see the sights, although you need a fair level of fitness to climb the hill on Buda side. Lunch was delicious.

I really enjoyed this tour because it took us to the right places in Budapest. I loved the scenery and the famous buildings we went to. I loved the goulash lunch at the park. The tour guide explained the history very well and was very kind. The weather was in the low 70's Fahrenheit so not much sweating except for uphill biking to the royal palace. No complaints and definitely recommend.

In spite of the unseasonal August rain and wind, Anna our guide, expertly led us through Budapest's streets and sights. It was a fantastic day, delivered with humour, energy and plenty of knowledge. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone with limited time and wanting an instant hit of the city and its past. Thank you Anna for a fabulous day

Brilliant, guide was very knowledgable and the tour was tailored to our needs. Food good when we stopped for lunch. But be ready for the hilly Buda side of the tour. Great to see the areas to return to using a hop on bus pass.

Loved this tour! The best way to see Budapest!
Great tour guide. Good bikes. Other than riding up the Castle hill I didn't think it was too strenuous. I did however push my bike up half of the hill I'm only 33 and in medium shape.
Lunch was delicious. The atmosphere was just great. I'd definitely do it again and/or recommend it.

I really loved this tour. This is the best way to see all the popular sites in Budapest in less than 5 hours. Adam was simply amazing. He was really attentive and gave us many tips regarding restaurants, sites to visit, how to avoid tourist traps, etc. Adam speaks really good English although he is very humble about it. If you get Adam, ask him to affect the British and Italian accents. It was hilarious.
