The best of our three tours. Again Laslo (tour guide) was excellent. The palace is very well restored, the inside tours well organized and a pleasure to learn about and visit.
Awesome tour. Great guide and a beautiful day which made the day even better
Enjoyed this look at Godollo Castle. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining everything.
We were picked up promptly and the guide did a wonderful job of providing us with interesting historical facts and made sure we moved smoothly and efficiently through the busy castle.
Hotel pick up highly appreciated. the drive to the castle is picturesque. The castle tour was interesting, though not as opulent as other castles in other parts of Europe.
The tour guide was excellent. Simple tour but very informative and of historical interest. Maybe too detailed for some, but I loved it. We didn't get our coffee and cake though, and could have used it given the time period. Great hotel pick up service.
My friend and I ended up being the only two people on this tour. Our tour guide was able to give us a very personalized tour which was great.
The visit of the Palace was great, but no pictures were allowed. And there is no tour of the palace grounds, too. Lastly, the free cakes served were stale cakes, not edible!
Loved Godollo. Could have used another hour inside as there was much to see and time to explore the grounds too. Only reason for not giving it 5 stars. Guide was excellent. Informed and balanced (weeding out gossip from fact) as well as interesting.
This was our only trip through the Hungarian countryside. Seeing the palace and hearing its history helps tie together bits and pieces of the network of royalties across Europe. Our guide (we had the same one for the Folklore dinner) was excellent. Kudos to multi-lingual European guides in general and to this one in particular.
I liked the guide and the tour, Hotel pickup and other parts were well organized. What I did not like was how short it was, I wished we had more than ten minutes free time at the end as there wasn't enough time for shopping. It was raining so I was happy to skip the garden but if it was sunny there would not have been enough time.
This was a very interesting and informative tour---our guide was very knowledgeable and her English was of a high standard.
However, at the end of the tour around the palace, we were given only fifteen minutes of free time before our coach departed--this was clearly not enough to enable us to visit the tearoom or explore the gardens.
