What You Can Expect
No matter which you choose, you can be sure you’ll be entertained by some of the best professional folk performers in Hungary; all three performance groups were founded in the 1950s and have shown off their talents around Hungary and abroad! The 30 artists in each ensemble perform choreography based on authentic dances, some of which date back to isolated villages from hundreds of years ago.
As you watch and listen, gain an entertaining understanding of Hungary’s heritage through the music, dancing and costumes of the folk show.
Each show consists of two 40- to 45-minute sections with an intermission of ten to fifteen minutes.
Select a show at Danube Palace (Duna Palota), a neo-Baroque building from the 1890s, to see either the Danube Folk Ensemble or the Hungaria Folk Ensemble and Orchestra. If you choose Budai Vigado, a stately venue that boasts Art Nouveau interior décor, you’ll see the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble.

The theater was beautiful with comfortable seats and a wonderful view of the stage. Both the dancing and the music was fantastic. I definitely recommend it.
Very energetic a great experience
The music and costumes were incredible. The musicians and dancers were high energy the whole show. We are so glad we went. A very enjoyable evening.
Excellent performance, very energetic. Wonderful staff helped me get a taxi after.
Very memorable experience.
A really fun show in a beautiful theater.
A very enjoyable performance. The Viator voucher was unclear as to where one is supposed to pick up the tickets. Turn out that you just need to follow the crowd and stand in-line. Everyone is trying to pick up the ticket with some kind of voucher.
Our family really enjoyed the performance. The dancing was awesome, costumes were beautiful and the music sublime. The theatre was very pretty and had air conditioning (on an August day this was a pleasant surprise). Well, worth the money.
The only flaw is, while the program tells you the dance names it doesn't provide any historical information, which would have been nice.
