We had an awesome time on this tour. It takes about 4 hours, from meeting time to the the time you get back to the meeting place, so you have to plan your day around it. The guide was very funny and helpful. This made me want to go caving again! Can be challenging at times, which makes it better.
Excellent, totally worth it. Highlight of the holiday.
We had the best time ever. The guides were really great, they spoke a perfect English, and knew a lot about the caves. It was challenging and very exciting, and I would definitely do it again. I highly recommend this to everyone in normal or good shape with a lust for adventure.
Amazing. This was one of the best experiences of my entire life. It was fun, exciting, and definitely something I was glad I did. I would recommend this to anyone.
Was a great program. Planned and performed perfectly.
One remark: considering the amount of people, they should consider using a taxi instead of public bus. 4-5 people in a taxi is more efficient and also cost less!!!
I really enjoyed this tour, it was a lot of fun and the instructor was excellent. Some of the tunnels were physically demanding and it was very hot down in the caves but it was exciting and a bargain for the price.
LOVED the caving tour. It was the best thing we did in Budapest by far. Please note - make sure your shoes have traction and even though it doesn't say it, I'd recommend you be physically fit or in shape somewhat to partipate in the tour. Also, it says to bring a fleece - it will most likely not be needed. Everyone in our group wore t-shirts and either shorts or jeans and we were all sweating about 1/4 of the way through.
Anyways, it was a blast. Crawling, climbing, holding on for dear life at one point - it was a ton of fun and we had great guides as well. Highly recommended if you are the adventurous type!
The experience was equivalent to a real caving trip instead of an ordinary guided tour of any cave. For a little variety in your itinerary, I will definitely recommend every enthusiastic visitor to try this caving tour.
We had a great time exploring the caves, but the tour description left out a lot.
First of all, plan for 4-5 hours, not 3. Getting to the caves requires a trip on 2 city buses, bus tickets not included. Not a problem, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. It took about an hour to get everyone tickets and to get there on the bus.
The description says "no caving experience necessary", which is true, but there is no walking on the tour. Once you enter the caves, it is 2-21/2 hours of crawling, climbing and sliding on your butt. Being in good shape is definitely a plus.
Once your tour of the caves is over, you are on your own to find your way back on the buses without a guide.
While the caving adventure was very cool, we were very disappointed with the transportation to and from the tour. We had paid the additional fee in order to be picked up from our hotel and transported to the caving site, and then to be picked up from the caves and trans. back to our hotel. Taxi picked us up nearly an hour late to trans. us to the tour and then NEVER PICKED US UP to take us back to our hotel. We had to walk for over an hour and then take a metro back. If you can arrange your own transport, do so. The caving adventure itself was awesome, although a little more difficult than I had anticipated (and i'm young and in shape!), but absolutely give it a try!
