Extremely interesting in-depth overview of Hungary trapped in a vise between Germany and Russia in the 40's. Life for Hungarians was mighty tough. Ex-teacher was an excellent tour guide with great knowledge and good flow of English language.

Excellent guide, Zsolt, who incorporated some interesting activities into the tour. He established the context first and then showed us many of the relevant sights. This was also a useful introduction to Budapest in general.

Excellent tour with tour guide Robert Wallenstein. He spent all afternoon with us and gave us so much information. We saw sites we never would have found on our own. Would highly recommend this tour!

You do not have enough stars to rate this tour. Absolutely, positively, outstanding. The young lady is the best. She explained the history and background of Budapest re the past century. As it impacted her family, she was fully informed of all that had occurred.

After our talk, we went to see several monuments. She gave me the background of the monuments which
i would never have known about without her explanation. Then she took me for a ride on the Metro.

i had my choice of several places to go on the tour. I had see the Jewish synagogue prior to the tour or that could have been one of our stops.

I was the only person on the tour so I could ask any questions. She was very, very knowledgeable and shared a great deal of information.

I learned so much. If you are at all interested in the background of this wonderful city take this tour.

The guide is the best you will ever have.

Great tour. The guide made it - giving her own personal experiences. Unfortunately only had 20 mins to look into museum - not enough time.

As I was the only participant of that tour, I really enjoyed it, especially as your guide explained it in German, English and nevertheless gave me the opportunity to practise my hungarian, too. I learnt a lot of the history of your country and I followed the tour crack one day later for photos.

Coming from the West and having little experience with communism, we appreciated the wealth of info provided in this tour. I especially appreciated the first hand knowledge of our tour guide who grew up under the communist regime.

I thought to tour was very good. My only two concerns were with the structure and the price. Once we left the tour company building after a very good introduction to Hungary, there was no real order to what we saw or discuss. Maybe it's not possible to construct a linear narrative of 20th-century Hungary for this type of walking tour, since it's based on what is publicly accessible. But at times we were jumping back and forth through history. I thought 62 was too much for the tour. I've done 3-hour tours in other cities on specific subjects and they don't cost this much.

Very interesting and informative, the guide was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. I was the only person on this tour so I got a lot of information - very pleased and would definitely recommend.

This tour was really good. I loved that they start by showing you what a 70's communist flat looks like and our guide was very nice and generally informed. However, I'm not sure it was worth the cost. Other tours were much cheaper and I was probably expecting a bit more.
