Short Version: Get Martin as your tour guide. Period, end of story.
Long Version: My wife and I have taken a number of the Walking Tours throughout a number of different cities across the globe. We feel it's the best way to really get to know a city.
Now of course the biggest variable on any of these tours is the guide. The guide literally makes or breaks the experience. For the most part with Viator we have been lucky and had some very good guides take us around and show us their city but this city tour was on a whole different level.
Martin was the best tour guide we have had and we have had a number of great tour guides. At the end of the day we really felt we knew the culture, the history, the districts... i mean just everything.
Martin's has a unique perspective as he lived in Canada before coming back to Argentina and can really do an amazing job of comparing/contrasting all the details and nuances of what make BA such an interesting place.
Without getting too long winded, if there is someway you can ensure Martin is your guide I can confidently guarantee you that you will come back to your friends and family gushing about the awesome trip you had.
We had nearly a 3 week trip through South America and this was one of the absolute highlights of the trip (New Years Eve in Rio wasn't bad either).
We had to change our date the morning of the tour and Martin was extremely accommodating. We liked the morning tour so much that we asked to come along for the afternoon tour as well and he fit us in.
What a remarkable experience. Thanks Martin!
the guide is excellent he gave us a lot of usefull information and we really enjoyed every minute of the tour
Excellent!...our tour guide Martin was extremely knowledgeable...highly recommended for short stays in BA
Delightful way to see the city with a guide who has excellent information about the history, architecture and personalities of Buenos Aires.
FANTASTIC!!! The walking guide spoke PERFECT English and was really nice. It was just my wife and I on the tour so it felt like walking the city with a friend. We saw way more than I thought we would and he gave us the history of many local buildings and sites. The tour was one of the best walking tours we have been on and I would say it was the best way to really see the main sites.
This tour is wonderful and very informative of the city of Buenos Aires and its history. Very knowledgable and witty with this city's culture and history. Highly recommended!
The tour operator was very professional and had a very thorough and interesting knowledge of the history of Buenos Aires. He was also very passionate about his work and the history of Argentina and the city. By participating in this tour you will gain a new found understanding of the City that will change your perception of it.
Excellent escorted guided tour. Our guide was well informed, and we especially appreciated his explanations in perfect English. Great value and good exercise to walk the route that was easy for the average person. One in our party has respiratory deficiency, but there were frequent pauses that allowed him to catch up. Doing it on your own is false economy, since you would miss so much of the historic commentary a local guide provides. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour to a friend. Five Stars!
We enjoyed this tour even though it did not cover some of the major places of interest. Martin was a good guide and the pace was comfortable.
Knowledgeable and entertaining guide takes small group around some interesting sites in central area. All good. Our only negative was we found the morning tour was a little limited (our fault because we booked a short time) but we added an after-noon extension and that made it all feel like a better tour.
I call this "Tour with Attitude." This was a walking tour of some neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Guide was very knowledgeable--and opinionated about advantages and disadvantages of Argentinian life. In middle of tour, you will have a "coffee break" with guide. This gives you a chance to better understand Argentina culture and how they view work---"we work to live"---as compared to "we live to work." Argentinians are about enjoying life--not about working hard. The guide who spent lot of time in Canada is very well spoken---just don't take the side of England in the Falkans War!
The guide was knowledgeable and fun. The city has perhaps some of the most interesting architecture in the Western Hemisphere.
