What You Can Expect

Buenos Aires Dining Experience: Empanada Making, Steak, Wine, Alfajores and Mate

Enjoy authentic Argentine dishes!

This unique interactive dining experience starts with your arrival at the location, at which point you will promptly suit up in an apron and chef's hat. The first thing you'll learn how to make is the traditional Argentine empanada, after which you'll face off with your intimate group of fellow diners in a empanada-making competition complete with prizes for the winners. Enjoy chorizo, grilled provoleta cheese, and warm bread with homemade chimichurri sauce and salsa criolla.

Food is important to this country's culture, and your two expert local guides will teach you how to order what is arguably Argentina's best steak, bife de lomo, in Spanish. While your guides continue to chat with your group about local culinary customs, dig in to your cooked-to-order steak accompanied by mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. Alfajores are the typical dessert with an Argentine meal, and you'll learn to make your own with shortbread and dulce de leche (caramel.) Mate comes next, the traditional tea drink that has its own ritual, etiquette, and history. Wash everything down with unlimited local Malbec, and leave your evening an Argentinian cuisine connoisseur.

Mixology Option:
Enter the “aroma room” to test your olfactory senses, learning how to identify wines based on their smell with the guidance of a sommelier. Accompanied by gourmet appetizer pairings, learn to create wine-based cocktails using red wine, white wine and rosé.

I gave it a five just to put in a score. In fact, I'm sorry, but I can't review it. It was the night of a holiday and people in the street blocked our taxi from getting to our hotel in time. But from reviews I saw it looked like it would have been fun.

All four of us including 2 teenagers loved this experience. It was fun and the food was delicious! We also enjoyed meeting and talking to the other travelers at our table. The staff went out of their way to meet every need including finding us a cab home at the end. We even learned very useful information about traveling in Argentina. It was a fantastic experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

This was a wonderful experience. I love the way it was set up where we were able to sit with people from all over the world. I even met people that were on my cruise ship.
The chefs keep us entertained and explained the culture as well as the food.

The food was fantastic. We started with a great cheese appetizer with sauces in which we dipped bread. The steak was much better any I found in a restaurant while in Buenos Aires and I now have a favorite new food, empenadas. There was so much food that it was impossible to eat all of it. One person even took leftovers back to the ship.
. .
A most due if you like cooking, drinking wine and meeting new friends.
