Take a day trip from Cairns along one of Australia's most scenic coastal roads to Daintree National Park. Along the way you'll visit the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary at Port Douglas, swim in a crystal-clear river at Mossman Gorge, take a cable ferry across the Daintree River then explore Cape Tribulation on a guided rainforest walk.
Your first stop is Port Douglas, where you will visit the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary to see native animals including kangaroos, tree kangaroos, crocodiles, koalas and rare cassowaries. Your journey continues to Mossman Gorge, where you can take a walk in the rainforest or swim in a rainforest stream.
Then it's time to head north and cross the Daintree River by cable ferry to enter the Cape Tribulation section of the Daintree National Park. You'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at Coconut Beach Resort, and go for a swim in a private rock pool. After a visit to Cape Tribulation Beach, you'll take the guided Marrdja Botanical Rainforest Walk through the heart of Cape Tribulation. Along the way, your guide will share the fascinating secrets of the rainforest, its food, medicines and history.
Your journey then returns to the Daintree River, where you will enjoy a wildlife cruise, searching for crocodiles, birds and other mangrove wildlife. Before your day out concludes you'll have spectacular views from the Rex Lookout.
