Daintree Rainforest Zipline and Wildlife Habitat Day Trip

Kangroo feeding at Wildlife Habitiat

Get an early start when your guide picks you up at your hotel in Cairns, Palm Cove or Port Douglas.

Travel in a climate-controlled coach along one of Australia’s most scenic coastal roads. When you arrive at Port Douglas, visit the award-winning Wildlife Habitat, which features native plants and animals in exhibits that replicate three natural environments: the Rainforest, Wetlands and Grasslands. The park is home to Australian natives including kangaroos and koalas, as well as the endangered cassowary, and other bird life.

See more Australian wildlife during at your next stop, a cruise down the Daintree River and through the mangroves in World Heritage-listed Daintree National Park. Enjoy fantastic views of the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef during a stop at Alexandra Lookout, then fuel up with a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the national park.

After lunch, swing through the trees of Daintree Rainforest on a guided ziplinee tour that offers an exhilarating perspective of the rainforest canopy. Zip between five platforms and get a bird’s-eye look at the foliage, streams and Coral Sea, with a naturalist guide there to share informative details about the ecosystem and wildlife of the forest.

Your tour ends with return to your hotel in Port Douglas, Cairns or the Northern Beaches in the late afternoon.

What a great way to experience the rain forest. 3 trips in one. We saw very large crocodiles and a very rare tree kangaroo. The tour guide was very friendly and informative, and the staff at each location was very friendly.

The ziplining is amazing and lunch is delicious. Wildlife habitat is wonderful and able to hold koala is great experience for my kids. We did not see many crocodiles in the cruise and a bit disappointed, but it is still a nice cruise.

Fantastic! Adam our tour guide was very informative and safely drove us through some pretty winding roads. Because we were ahead of schedule, he stopped and added a rain forest walk. Because it was a rainy day, we didn't see any wildlife, but the walk was still beautiful. The visit at Wildlife Habitat was great! I got to hold a koala and also feed the wandering kangaroos - little beggars they are. Very happy campers and friendly! But the best part was the Zip Line Adventure - wow! The guys, Lee, Cam, Bill, Brent and James were so much fun! With their wit and encouragement, they got everyone to turn upside down and let go while in the tree tops! Exhilirating! We got to experience a true downpour in a rainforest. Luckily it was warm as we got soaked - but we didn't care! It was thrilling! After all the thrills, we took a nice cruise on the Daintree River - just beautiful. Because it was a cooler rainy day, we only saw one crocodile. But it was still worth it. This is a must do adventure!

Had a wonderful day. The guys running the zip line were very entertaining and thoughtful. One of our party had MS and they planned her ride accordingly. Probably the most enjoyable of all our excursions.
