Very lovely day w/ this company! Friendly and great sense of humor. Clean boat w/ plenty of seating. Very helpful staff when we inquired about activity pricing. "Out of Order" bathroom on boat...though I didn't need it I would have liked to know that it was option on the 45 minute ride to/from Fitzroy
The crew was friendly and helpful. After we docked at the island the crew helped us get our gear and made sure we knew the times of when the glass bottom boat was departing to make sure we didn't miss it. Our packed lunch was simple but very good. The island was beautiful however the water was murky from the previous storms but it wasn't their fault. We did get to see many fish and the beautiful coral and a turtle.
The boat to the island wasn't busy which made the trip more relaxing than usual. The staff were very welcoming and had a good sense of humour! The island is stunning and there are multiple activities to do, although if you want to schedule other tours, you have limited time for snorkelling etc.
The place is amazing.... Infortunately it's been raining cats and dogs all day!!!!!
I would recommend this your as a must do!! One word.. Beautiful!!
Absoluty AMAZING! Fitzroy is beautiful and everything on the tour went smooth and nice. Fitzroy _is_ actually better than Green Island if you wish for less crowd and a great place. Also, amazing rainforest walk. Unforgettable!
Perfect day out, we didn't even realise we could have done more. Go to the shack and ask what you can do straight away and get your lunch.
Everything is provided. Swim and Snorkel and Kayak as much as you want. Food could have been better but overall a well worth trip. I opted for trip 2
One of the best days in Cairn, regret we can not stay longer there. Paradise!!!
Great experience. Everything went without any problems and as arranged.
Highly recommend the hiking trail, spotted a lot of wildlife on the trail, I'll recommend a two day trip if you want to do both hiking and snorkeling
Loved it! Did the glass bottom boat ride and got to see all the wildlife. The glass in the boat isn't that great but good enough to see the fish (definitely get in the water and snorkel to see the fish up close).
Take the walk to the nude beach and see the white sand. A bit quiet on that side of the island and no one really does skivvy down but some pretty cool white sand to see.
There's a few hiking trails on the way to the nude beach which we tried to followed for about 20 minutes before turning back because we had to catch the boat back to Cairns. Yet, if we had more time, we would have followed the trail a lot longer as it was quite pleasant with all the birds chirping and the lizards running around.
And of course, you must snorkel! The water is a bit murky in some areas but you do get to see fish swim right in front of your face. If you miss seeing any fish, just look around the dock - there are tons there! You definitely can't miss them on the way in and out from Fitzroy Island.
Had a really great time on this tour, did snorkeling, glass bottom boat and used the ocean trampoline all excellent and enjoyed the bar
We had a great time and the picnic lunch was such a nice idea very fresh and healthy.
It was a great trip and the Raging Thunder people were excellent. The only thing that needs improvement is the check in information on your voucher. It needs to be more specific in relation to the check in point and which counter is relevant to Raging thunder,as there were quite a few of us lining up at the boat as the check in office was out of sight appraching from the western side boardwalk.
Otherwise great trip
This trip offers a lovely, quiet, relaxing day out. Whilst staying in Cairns we also visited Green Island whereas this has more sandy beaches it doesn't have the fabulous snorkelling that Fitzroy does. The reef and the fish are absolutely stunning. I loved Fraser Island for the fact that there is not much there at all whereas Green Island is very commercialised. If you are looking for total relaxation, walks in the tropical rain forest up to the summit, a day on the beach or snorkelling this is definitely the place for you. Unfortunately, we weren't able to do the walks as the Forestry Commission were doing controlled burning that day but we still had a great time on the beach. Water sports equipment can be hired from the beach hut and there is also glass bottom boats on offer. On the island there is a dive centre but you might have to contact them direct before your visit should you want a dive here. All in all a great day out.
It was wonderful but I think we spent too much walking around the island instead of swimming with the fish :)
