Beautiful day, beautiful island. Snorkeling, walking, enjoying a tropical island for a full day. All the water activities were great, and even if the boat was crowded, you do not feel it in island. Sandwich lunch was also good. I recommend it to everyone. And Fitzroy island is a must see if you are goinf to Cairns.
Was so great. Widths every minute. Easy to book. Helpful

Fantastic day ----great crew---great island and not to busy
Awesome Island!
We really enjoyed our trip. We ordered vegetarian lunch and were surprised at the fantastic quality and the quantity of the food. The skipper went put of his way to make our visit enjoyable. We have recommend this trip to others.
Great Day!
Booking through Viator was quick and easy. Simply printed out voucher and presented at ticket window on the day. Only extra charge was reef tax which I can't remember reading about on the Viator site but I might have missed it.
Pros
Scenic and quick trip out to Fitzroy Island on the ferry (about 45 minutes as described on site). Island itself is beautiful with pretty good snorkeling - still think snorkeling is much better on Green Island. Green Island is further out on the reef - Fitzroy is closer to land. For younger children they provide a boogie board with a viewing window so the child can lie on the board and see the fish swimming underneath - this was one of the best ideas I have seen on the reef- and with a 3 year year old I found this device very helpful. Glass bottom boat tour was good - especially for children or non swimmers as they get to see some big fish and coral. Packed lunch was fresh and there was ample food - in each lunch box there was half a chicken wrap, bread roll with ham, cheese and tomato, juice, water, apple and a muesli bar - something for everyone. Foxy's bar and grill is a lovely place to relax for anyone not swimming or if you want a break from the water. Had live music playing the day we were there - enjoyed cocktails while looking out over paradise!
Cons
Shore at Fitzroy covered in broken coral which was very uncomfortable to walk on. Definitely suggest taking reef shoes. Biggest problem was lack of staff. When we arrived we had to collect snorkeling equipment and stinger suits from a cabana on the beach. We had to wait about 15 minutes until it opened (which was not a problem) but then, when it did open, there was only one staff member to provide equipment to over 50 people. Eventually two other staff members came but I would not like to have been at the end of the line! I think this was partly because we went out in April which is low season.
Overall I would still recommend Green Island for snorkeling.
It was nice, would go back again
