The cruise was great, the staff friendly and approachable, the island was fantastic. You get to do as you please when on the island which is great and relaxing.

The weather wasn't very good the day we went out so the tour was not as good as we had hoped.

I'm more used to the beautiful reefs, marine life and corals of the Caribbean and Hawaiian islands.

Probably only really good for those interested in snorkelling. It was quite rough so the glass bottom boat option didn't appeal to me on that particular day. If the weather had been calmer I would have done it. Not a lot to do on Green Island if you are not really interested in snorkelling.

It was ok. A half day would have been better. Saw some cool fish and a small stingray but other than that not much to spend a full day.

We were not able to do the reef viewing due to murky seas, but enjoyed limited snorkeling. Green Island itself was very disappointing and a was a bit of a tourist trap, with nothing much worth seeing. We walked the paths and beach areas, but the tourist stores seemed to spoil the island. The boat ride and staff were fine, and advised us properly so we got our money back from the viewing we could not do. Next time I would try going to other reef locations, and would recommend Green Island only if the weather and seas were clear.

The cruise out to the island and lunch was ok. The beaches were clean but had to snorkel a ways out to see any coral or fish. After diving the Great Barrier Reef the day before, the island was a bit boring. Probably a great way for families or couples to spend time at the beach or pool.

It wasn't made very clear where it was best to go snorkelling.

For our first Great Barrier Reef experience, it was fine. We were thrilled to snorkel the slightly murky waters off the beach. But after visiting the outer reef a couple days later, we realized our green island trip was not as awesome as a reef experience should be. It was crowded on the island. Very touristy, of course. There were probably a couple hundred people on the boat. And a few other boats that made the trip over during the day. The lunch was pretty good. But I wouldn't go there again.

The reef is really not far enough out to see many fish while snorkeling. The submarine was a much better way to see the coral and the sea life.

We couldn't enjoy at all what we had deserved to have because of the terrible weather. But it couldn't be helped.

Worth doing for the inexperience traveler, with limited time. A good place to get your toes wet.

If you are looking to see coral, fish, or the reef, then this is not the tour to choose. Choose an outer-reef tour for the best experience. Having snorkeled several places around the world, I was greatly disappointed by this tour. The reef coral around Green Island is dead, obviously from over-tourism. What remains is dead coral surrounded by sea-grass. As for the island, there is not a whole lot to do here and you will get bored. The buffet lunch was satisfactory, but nothing spectacular. Other people on the tour told us the glass-bottom boat was good. All in all, I would not recommend this tour, and if given a second chance, I would opt for an outer barrier reef tour. Here's a tip: when it comes to the Great Barrier Reef, pay more for a genuine experience to see the coral and sea life. Cheaper isn't always better!
