What an adventure! My husband and I booked the small group tour. There were about 15 of us on that tour that day. It was about a two and half hour shuttle ride from the resort to the site. Our tour guide, Juan Carlos, was wonderful. He had a great sense of humor and you can tell he really loves his job. Once there we got right down to business making the rounds of the site. It is an amazing place with such an amazing story. I can tell you, I learned a lot. Along the tour route there are plenty of vendors so one can do a little shopping. After the tour was over, we had a wonderful buffet lunch complete with dancers at the Maya Land Hotel which sits right on the grounds as well. The hotel is beautiful. We also had free run of the facilities for a couple of hours before leaving for the trip back. I would highly recommend this tour. It was educational and we met some really nice people :)
We had an older gentleman named Carlos, he was outstanding in presenting all of the places of the ruins. The ruins themselves were gorgeous. The only thing that I would change is the actual GUESTS. Many of them were extremely rude to this tour guide. As he tried to speak to the group, he had made a deal with all of the guests in the group that he would speak in Spanish first and the English speakers can wander closely, then vice versa. Many people in the group that we were in would just wonder far off or talk to each other and not even listen to him. As far as the tour itself, it was very informing and made you want to know more. The food at the hotel was delicious, and the Mayan Planetarium was very neat!
An amazing experience I went in mid August and there weren't large groups. It was organzied and we were provided with umbrellas. I wish we had more time to continue to explore, but the tour is very interesting. You see a cenote, but ONLY the sacred one. With this tour cenote swim is NOT included.
Great Tour. Was very comfortable for me and my two children of 5 and 7.
Very educational. We had wonderful guide. Lots of areas without shade so remember sunblock. If your bus driver offers an umbrella, take him up on it!
Our guide was very informative about the Mayan history and the history behind the ruins. The handmade tortillas with pork were amazing. The guide gave all of us a enough free time to do whatever, and we did Mayan planetarium. It was a great experience and I recommend to do chitchen itza before tulum
Excellent tour from beginning to end! Our guide was very engaging with our group and was very informative. Having done a previous tour of Chichen Itza with a different tour operator, this was above and beyond my expectations! The private entrance, the lunch at the hotel and then being left to be on your own afterwards makes this THE tour to take!
The tour guide was awesome! Full of information and made the tour interesting and exciting. I am travel agent out of Canada and I will definitely recommend this private tour.
Thank you for the great experience.
You can get lost in the crowd, OR, you can get pampered with a small group tour. This tour is exactly as advertised, with VIP treatment from resort pickup to drop off. I've always been 'part of the crowd' on my previous Chichen Itza visits. This time my wife and I made the smart choice, and went with the Viator small group.tour. What a difference! No more stampedes. No more exhaustion from trying to 'keep up with the crowd'. Thanks Viator. You made our day! Jon and Joanne
This was a great day out. We were picked up at the said time and the transport was not crowded at all. We had a good comfortable seat as this was a 2 hour journey which went in quite fast. The rep ( Maurico) was good and informative and gave a good narrative during the trip. The tour itself was excellent as i had wanted to go to this site and see for myself the buildings. Good return journey. I would highly recommend this trip.
Good tour and guide. Very happy with the small group trip. Worth every penny.
Outstanding. Chichen Itza was much more awesome than any picture or comment can express. The tour was a really good deal, too! Mayaland is a sweet hotel with grounds and villas blending in seamlessly with the breath-taking ruins of Chichen Itza. The lunch was OK, but the entertainment was outstanding!! The bus ride was as comfortable as a bus ride can be. Bring a hat, wear sunscreen, and sport light clothing...even in early February it got hot in a hurry! I could not recommend this more highly!! ENJOY!
What a fantastic day. Transfers were timely. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, easy to understand, warm and fun. They way it was set up we got there "just early enough" and we were wrapping up the guided portion just as the place was filling up with the bus tours. Great pics...every turn was another 'wow'. Mayaland was fantastic too...beautiful grounds and we wrapped up the day with a short swim and a couple of margaritas. Easily one of the best tours I've been on...WORTH EVERY PENNY.
I spent 9 days in Mexico and went to Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel.
In my entire travels, nothing was more exciting, fun and adventurous then the tour to Chichen Itza.
I learned far more about the Mayan culture while there than on any video, show or book.
By far, I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
The price was perfect because taxi cabs are super expensive all over this area and the drive is not close.
You get the transfers, the tour and lunch for an extremely reasonable price.
You also get the opportunity to pass by Mayan descendants reservations, experience Mayan culture and purchase many, many gifts and souvenirs at the absolute lowest prices in Mexico...
