The tour guide was awesome! Full of information and made the tour interesting and exciting. I am travel agent out of Canada and I will definitely recommend this private tour.
Thank you for the great experience.
You can get lost in the crowd, OR, you can get pampered with a small group tour. This tour is exactly as advertised, with VIP treatment from resort pickup to drop off. I've always been 'part of the crowd' on my previous Chichen Itza visits. This time my wife and I made the smart choice, and went with the Viator small group.tour. What a difference! No more stampedes. No more exhaustion from trying to 'keep up with the crowd'. Thanks Viator. You made our day! Jon and Joanne
This was a great day out. We were picked up at the said time and the transport was not crowded at all. We had a good comfortable seat as this was a 2 hour journey which went in quite fast. The rep ( Maurico) was good and informative and gave a good narrative during the trip. The tour itself was excellent as i had wanted to go to this site and see for myself the buildings. Good return journey. I would highly recommend this trip.
Good tour and guide. Very happy with the small group trip. Worth every penny.
Outstanding. Chichen Itza was much more awesome than any picture or comment can express. The tour was a really good deal, too! Mayaland is a sweet hotel with grounds and villas blending in seamlessly with the breath-taking ruins of Chichen Itza. The lunch was OK, but the entertainment was outstanding!! The bus ride was as comfortable as a bus ride can be. Bring a hat, wear sunscreen, and sport light clothing...even in early February it got hot in a hurry! I could not recommend this more highly!! ENJOY!
What a fantastic day. Transfers were timely. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, easy to understand, warm and fun. They way it was set up we got there "just early enough" and we were wrapping up the guided portion just as the place was filling up with the bus tours. Great pics...every turn was another 'wow'. Mayaland was fantastic too...beautiful grounds and we wrapped up the day with a short swim and a couple of margaritas. Easily one of the best tours I've been on...WORTH EVERY PENNY.
I spent 9 days in Mexico and went to Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel.
In my entire travels, nothing was more exciting, fun and adventurous then the tour to Chichen Itza.
I learned far more about the Mayan culture while there than on any video, show or book.
By far, I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
The price was perfect because taxi cabs are super expensive all over this area and the drive is not close.
You get the transfers, the tour and lunch for an extremely reasonable price.
You also get the opportunity to pass by Mayan descendants reservations, experience Mayan culture and purchase many, many gifts and souvenirs at the absolute lowest prices in Mexico...
Mike, our tour guide, was great in explaining all about Chichen Itza and answered all our questions. The buffet lunch at Mayaland was good. There were a lot of choices. The staff there were very nice and helpful. The planetarium was nice and interesting. We enjoyed our trip to Chichen Itza.
We were picked up at 07.40. Went on to pick up 4 more people then off to Chichen Itza. Took under 2 hrs to get there which was brilliant. No stops at villages which are you shops. Tour guide was good. Lunch was lovely. A good choice of Mayan , Mexican and international dishes. Highly recommended.
Carloes did an excellent job as guide. His knowledge was amazing and we got so much more out of the tour than we would have without all his history.
Great tour! Well worth the money and half the price being charged by the hotel. I was picked up on time at the hotel and was dropped off by 6:30pm. The guide was very informative. Small group is much nicer.
Excellent knowledgeable tour guide, clean comfortable transportation. An excellent tour.
Everything was well run and on time. Our guide Juan Carlos was very informative and helpful.
The tour was outstanding. Roberto was our guide and he took such good care of us and he is so knowledgable about the area. The private entrance really helped. Food was good, but drinks (even water) at the lunch are extra. The planaterium part was nice, but I wouldn't pay extra for it. Instead, return back to the site and use the time to go to the buildings you didn't see or hike to the cenote. btw, it was really hot, but Roberto kept us in the shade. And the tour provided umbrellas and water so that could keep out of direct sun. The tour included airport transportation which was handled flawlessly. I am so impressed with everything. The only flaw...instructions said to call 48 hrs ahead of time (to a 1-877 number) to confirm pickup time. Was still in the US at that time. When I placed the call, they wouldn't confirm and said I had to be in Mexico. However, you can't call 1-877 from Mexico. This number is to the local tour group. I had to call the Viator number and they call the local company and confirmed for me. Please either confirm when I call, or provide a local number to confirm once on site. The airport pickup provided a local number and that was easy to handle.
This was without a doubt the very best way to see Chichen Itza. It was so nice to be picked up at our hotel rather than having to find a way to some meeting place. There were just 3 couples in the van which was indeed a Mercedes and while not a fancy one was new, clean, and very comfortable. We stopped at nice bathrooms and did not face local sales efforts there. The private entrance through the beautiful and historic Mayaland Hotel was intriguing. Most people do not even know about it. A short 5 minute walk on a nice path through tropical forest and you come out right next to the largest pyramind. Water and umbrellas were provided and were very much needed/used. I felt bad for the people who came on buses. Our guide was exceptionally well informed and the Observatory show [The Mayan Sky] was fascinating. The buffet lunch at the Hotel was basically "right there" and was delicious. They had ethnic dancers to entertain. Bring tip money for them and pesos to buy nice things from the locals. There is a small local chocolate factory on campus and exceptionally beautiful tropical gardens. We would like to stay at the Mayaland Hotel if we go down there again. Our driver, Giovani, spoke perfect English, has studied in the US and was fun and well informed. He even showed us pictures of his pet monkey!
