I booked this tour online shortly before we left on our trip and was a little concerned about confirming the hotel pickup time as we were arriving in Cancun late on the day before our tour. I needn't have worried as a prompt email gave me the information the day before we left home. The bus arrived on time at our hotel and everything went very smoothly.
Our guide Frank was great, very informative and entertaining during the drive and during our tour of the extraordinary Chichen Itza site. Ramon was a very good, safe driver. Afterwards we were dropped at our hotel first which was good because we'd been picked up first --and earliest!
Despite the early start getting to the site at 9am was brilliant because by the time we left at 12 it was hot and everyone was beginning to wilt. Other groups were just arriving!
Don't underestimate the sun and be prepared to walk and stand for some time around the ruins in limited shade. Hats and water are a must. We came prepared and thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Clapping in front of the main temple and hearing the astonishing echo effect is something we'll never forget!
It was well worth waking up early. We were there and gone before the crowds and the hot blazing sun. Freddy was an amazing guide. His knowledge was relevant and came from his beliefs as a Mayan himself.
The bus was a large tour bus. The driver (sorry can and #39;t remember his name) was safe and careful.
We had a wonderful tour to Chichen Itza and our tour guide Frank was awesome. Ramone was our bus driver. High fives to them both for an amazing day!
This was a great trip. Leaves VERY early but definitely worth it to have a more private experience.
Frank was a Mayan himself, very knowledgeable and interesting. Gave us a 2 hour tour, which included many fascinating facts about the culture. Ramon was an excellent driver. We really appreciated the bottle of cold water on the trip back to our resort. The bus came on time and a couple of bathroom breaks were taken. A wonderful day trip!!!!
Our trip was awesome! Ramon and Conrad did an outstanding job! It was an experience of a lifetime and I highly recommend it.
We loved the early access tours. It was well worth the early start. We could have used more time but it was getting hot and crowded when we left.
Franck was our tour guide and him and his driver were nothing short of FABULOUS! I had such a wonderful time listening to his insight on the Mayan culture. He is passionate and very funny. He kept my attention with everything he had to say about Chichen Itza. I am an archaeology major and I STILL learned so much. Be prepared for hot weather and wear comfortable shoes. I recommend bringing an umbrella for the best sun protection. We avoided the intense heat by departing early in the morning and leaving the site around noon. Go on this tour, you won't regret it!!
The early morning tour was great to beat the heat and the crowds.
I am soooo happy we booked early morning, the heat was ridiculous at when we were leaving just as most groups were arriving. Our tour guide Freddy was wonderful, funny and informative. The transport was comfortable and not over crowded, we were able to sleep on the way.
This tour is amazing! Everything was organized and we had a great day!
We were picked up at 5:30 at our hotel and went on to pick up other people. We were transferred to a different bus and then made our way to Chichen Itza! The trip there and back lasted about two hours. When we arrived, they tried to get us in as soon as possible to avoid the crowds. It worked. We were with a guide for an hour and a half and then on our own for another hour and a half. It started to get really busy around the time we were leaving, so it was totally worth getting up early. The lunch wasn't great, but I wasn't there for the food. It was a really hot day so make sure you wear sun block!
It was great to have people making sure we had a good experience. Freddy was our guide during the trip and Ramon was a great driver. Incredibly nice people!
Wonderful tour, great experience. Freddie is a terrific tour guide.
Amazing! Really good customer service and very interesting history
Freddy ,our guide was informative, funny and overall great.going early is the key. Definietly check it out.
What a great tour! Our guide Frank was very knowledgable and did a wonderful job. The early access was so worth getting up early on vacation. We literally arrived right as the doors opened. By getting there early it was cooler, there was hardly anyone there, and the vendors aren't set up so they don't bother you. The only thing that was frustrating was that we were told our pickup would be at 5:15 am but it didn't come until almost 6. Not fun to sit for 45 minutes when you're already up early! We legitimately thought they weren't coming and the number that was provided to us went to voicemail. A suggestion to the operator-they should add a tour option for a combo early access and cenote visit. I know it's a long day already but we would have loved to add a cenote stop and still get the early access. It was a wonderful tour though and I would definitely recommend it!
We had a great time on this trip, a definite plus to our time in Cancun. We were the first bus there in the morning so there were very few people at the site. Freddie, our guide, gave us a lot of information while we were still on the bus, then expanded that information about each specific part of the site as we went from site location to site location. His knowledge helped up understand much more about the amazing history of this location. It is hard to believe all that was accomplished when this was built. When we left the location was packed. Everything was on time. The tour was fantastic thanks to our tour guide Freddie. My wife and I would definitely recommend this tour.
Very good trip. Freddie was very knowledgeable and engaging. I was amazed how he translated from English to Spanish without even thinking about it! It was very interesting to find out about the history of Chichen Itza. Ramone also got us there safely, so thank you both! It was definitely worth leaving the hotel in the early hours of the morning, we got some amazing photos and avoided the heat. Only thing I would say is maybe we could have got a little extra time when we first entered to take more pics with the temple we only had 10 mins. Also the lunch wasn't great, we ended up throwing this away! Other than that, amazing tour. Highly recommended!
Our tour was indeed excellent! What a valuable deal with Viator- would most definitely recommend as a must-book!
The tour was very comprehensive- they picked us and dropped us on time, gave us sufficient free time on our own to shop for souvenirs and explore more ruins on our own after the official tour. Our guide Frank was truly informative and because of his rich Mayan background, gave us an authentic taste of the culture of Chichen Itza. Truly interactive tour as you learn how the Mayans were intelligent designers of the world they created in harmony with nature- but I won't spill out any surprises for now! Very worth it when you get to beat the crowds and enjoy a good packed lunch too :

We loved the tour! Marco, our guide, was amazing as well as Carlos our driver. Unbelievable history explained! My husband was in a wheelchair and everyone was so friendly, helpful and accommodating of his needs. I would highly recommend the tour. We took the early tour to avoid the crowds and the heat...glad we did.
