Chichen Itza, has always been a favorite of mine. I, was here on 6-20-2015. I was a with a group of approx. 50 people, but felt like, I was by myself, due to the knowledge of our Private Archeologist , who was Mayan. We were there on a early morning tour, and had the site to ourselves ,before it got crowded. It rained for about 20 minutes, and that was it. The whole tour, was fantastic.I was here 28 years ago, with my brother and we didn't hire a guide ,we drove up on our own. I, would recommend, this tour to everyone, instead trying to go at by yourself ,because this time ,I learned a lot and really enjoyed myself.
The tour was incredible. Frank and crew were the best! A powerful experience. Worth every penny and the early wake up.
We loved the early access tour! We really loved our tour guides as well. Would highly recommend this tour to friends.
THE best way to see this unesco site. Go early and learn from the best guide ever!! Amazing tour.
This tour was fantastic. My family would recommend this one for sure. It is well worth the early wake up. Hopefully you get Freddy as your guide. Very knowledgeable. We were the only bus there when arriving and so no others were in the park but us.
This is a must attened attraction. Frank could not have ben more informative. An early start but really does beat all the rush. A long drive but it is a fair bit away. If you want to visit this wonder of the world this really is the best way to see it. Thank you very much for a really good trip
Freddi , oscar and francisco were amazing! Making it a fun day out. Pick up from the hotel was on time. Long time on bus but well worth it. Go early morning to avoid the crowds and mid afternoon heat. Overall, a once in a life tim experience and i wont forget it!
An early start to the day but well worth it to get to the ruins before the hoards of visitors arrived. We had a very good guide and he made the tour really enjoyable.
Most interesting tour and the early start meant there were few people there and it was cooler than an afternoon tour. Only negative was it was hard to hear the guide on the bus because no sound system. At Chichen Itza the guide was good and very informative.
Awesome tour! Got to see one of the wonders of the world! The guide was very informative and had a wealth of knowledge about Mayan culture (a descendent). Plenty of time to roam around the site and get great pics as we arrived early without having to fight the crowds! Had a great time!
The guide is an actual archeologist. He's funny, interesting and gave 100% effort from the time he picked us up at our hotel until the time we got home. He literally walks to your concierge, meets you inside and brings you right to the bus. Super friendly, super fun, best part of our Mexico trip.
It was breath taking and extremely informative. The only problem was the heat...... bring an umbrella to hide the sun!
The tour was really good, very informative about the Mayan history and culture. Freddie, Frankie, and Oscar got us up in the middle of the night, but we were first in the lot. Beating both the heat and the crowd. Thanks guys.
I would totally recommend this tour. It is worth getting up extra early for. You basically have the whole place to yourself when you get there, so you can get some really great pictures without a bunch of people in them. Also, it's not really to hot yet. We heard it gets unbareably hot later in the day. Our guide Freddie was amazing and a wealth of info. Awesome experience!
Early morning tour is the way to go to beat the heat. Bring your own snacks though because the box lunch isn't that great.
Also bring a lot of water. And pesos because exchange rate at chichen itza isn't that great. Tour guide freddy and driver oscar did a great job
We had a great time! Definitely worth the early wake up to take the early tour. First ones into the site and avoid the midday heat. Our guides Freddy and Frank were awesome. They are both of Mayan descent and were very informative and fun. A big shout out to our driver, Oscar too. Take this tour!
We really loved this tour! Our tour guide, Freddy, was very knowledgable. It was great to get to the site early - avoiding the crowds and heat. Oscar, our bus driver was great. The bus was very comfortable and the lunch simple ham sandwich, banana, cookies, juice and water was good and filling. When it says early, they mean early - we had to leave our hotel at 5:35am. Also we really enjoyed getting back to our resort around 3/4-ish and we enjoyed lounging by the pool felt like we got two days in one.
Early access is only way to go, beat the crowds and the heat. Knowledgeable tour guide, comfortable transportation and well organized. Would definitely recommend.
Best way to visit lichen Itza is to arrive early and leave before the crowds and the heat of the day impacts your experience. We were picked up at our hotel at 5:40am in a small shuttle bus and taken to a meeting point out on the highway to join others on a large air conditioned bus. On the bus trip to the site, Freddy our tour guide and Archeologist gave us a background of the Mayan culture as well as the history of the site. We arrived at 8:30 am and were the first bus to arrive!! Freddy guided us through the site with detailed explanations as well as demonstrations for 11/2 hours. We then had 11/2 hours to walk and peruse the site on our own. We reported back to the bus at 11:30am, received our box lunch, and arrived at our hotel at 3:00pm. Very well organized. We are in awe of the Mayan culture and their accomplishments. Would go again.
This trip was amazing!!!! You have to be willing to get up early for this on your vacation, but if you do it, you won't regret a MINUTE of it! We were picked up at about 5:00am promptly from our hotel and taken to our comfortable, air conditioned bus. Learned so much from Frank, our archeologist - he was wonderful! Can't say enough about him, personality and expertise! The best part of the early access, was we were not only the FIRST people to enter the site, but the ONLY people at that time. The photos were were able to take, were fantastic, as there were NO other people there at that point , totally unobstructed views! Of course, a great part too was that as we were leaving, droves were arriving, and the heat was becoming unbearable! The site itself is incredible, the history! Frank even took us to the Sacred Cenote. So great to have someone explain everything to you, the meaning, the perspective, as opposed to just looking at everything. A fantastic day - a bargain!!
