There are very few people who can make me laugh before 7am - Freddie and Oscar broke the barrier! Highly informative - you got a Mayan history, language and maths lesson all before you even arrived.Instructions were always clear and the direct translations between English and Spanish literally word for word, which meant as a non-Spanish speaker, you didn't feel like you were missing out. Freddie gives you information yet entertains you at the same time. This tour gets you to the site early which you really appreciate: 1. Your photos will be brilliant 2. When the sun shines after 11am, you want to be somewhere else - it is fierce. Oh, and another thing: buy the calendar - you'll regret it if you don't.

This tour was amazing, thanks to the excellent presentations by the two archeologists that accompanied us. A big applause for Ursula and Freddie! I learnt so much about the great Mayan civilisation. The site was not crowded when we arrived. Took great photos. Had a great trip.

My wife and I went on the early morning trip to Chichen Itza on 10th January 2015 accompanied by Saul our driver and Ursula our archaeologist. We thoroughly enjoyed the morning and found Ursula's knowledge and the way in which she conveyed this excellent and very interesting. I would highly recommend this trip and advise anyone to take the early morning start because as we were about to leave there were literally hundreds of people arriving in coaches and having to queue in extensive lines of people.

Tour was amazing. Freddy, the archeologist was very well prepared and passionate about the subject, got us all very interested!
The early wake was worth it, we got on the site when there were not many people and could have a more relaxed visit and take beautiful pictures.

We were glad to go early! By the time we left it was getting packed. We got photos of the structures with barely any tourists in them! Frank, our guide, was fantastic. We learned so much about the Maya, the history of the area in relation to the indigenous people, and Chichen-Itza. Great driver, great guide, awesome place. I would like to have had about 30 more minutes tacked onto the self exploration time, but still fantastic and highly recommended!

Perfect way to visit Chichen Itza. Been to many ruins of the Americas and still appreciate learning more. Knowledgeable guide and very good driver; felt well taken care of. A map of the grounds with names of the various sites, even just a photocopy, would have been a benefit.

This trip was fantastic! We got there before anyone else and before the heat, our guide was perfect - informative, friendly, and didn't overload us with information - he gave us just the right amount of interesting facts, showed us around and then provided free time.

Tips: wear sunscreen and a hat, bring water, and if you're really sun sensitive, bring an umbrella.

It got so hot and so crowded that we decided we had enough site seeing and opted for some tacos and cervezas in the surprisingly very good Mayan fusion restaurant on the premises.

We had the restaurant to ourselves, but as we were leaving the ruins for the day and making our way back to the van, we had to fight through herds of people who were arriving to the site. This made us really glad we got up before the sun to take this trip.

We are not the type to get on a big tour bus and we're also not the type to get up at 5 am on our own. So this trip was really the best possible excursion. We highly recommend it!

This was a really good tour! We got started super early though, a 5:15am pick up. Since we were first we drove around and waited around for the other tourists to get to the bus, which took probably another hour and half. After that though was great!! The area was practically empty, we weren't really hassled by vendors and Freddie and Santos made sure the experience was great as well. This is really the only way I would take this tour. As we were leaving the site around 1pm, we passed a ridiculous line to get back into the area. I'm so glad we didn't get stuck in all that!!!

Only way to visit an archeological site is with an archeologist and Frank was one. He shared tons of facts on the drive down so when we got there we knew what we should be looking for. It was funny seeing other guides tours face the wrong direction and be in the wrong location doing demos that failed.
