Great tour! The tour guide was really informative and worked really hard. I could tell that he was really tired at the end of the day so I gave him a good tip. I got my money's worth of the tour.
This was a very educational and enlightening day trip. I had never heard of Chichen Itza before and what I knew of the Mayans was embarrassingly small and very distorted. Francisco Frank!, provided a very concise yet greatly educational history of the Mayans, their plight and Chichen Itza. The site, the small portion that we were able to see in the early access express tour was awe-inspiring! Francisco's knowledge and guidance made me feel as if I was actually in a bird's eye view hundreds of years ago.
It was great!! The guide was very informative and knowledgeable! He also kept the group entertained! Would definitely recommend it!
We really enjoyed out trip to Chichen Itza. The coach was comfortable and our tour guide was very
knowledgeable. Hate to admit we can't remember his name but think it was Frank. We wish the tour had been an hour longer but all in all very organized and enjoyable
Booked this trip with Amigo Tours via Viator. A great trip and our guide Freddy was superb, imparting a lot of knowledge in a entertaining and informative manner. It was great to get there before the crowds and to avoid the hottest part of the day. You also get to take photographs with very few people around. We received email and a phone call confirming our pick up time the evening before 5.30am. The whole trip ran like clockwork and we were back at our hotel by 3.30pm, so time for a couple of hours by the pool. Don't let the early start put you off, it's well worth it!
Visiting early, with an archaeologist provided a unique insight into Chitzen Itzha. We cannot express our gratitude to Frank, our guide, enough. Note the Ha, Water, in Itzha, Frank. We listened! Frank is proud of his Mayan ancestry, as he should be. Well educated in Mayan culture, Frank was extremely capable of educating us on the facts about this sacred locale.
Pick up at the hotel was on time. The 3 hour tour was conducted by a very knowledgeable guide who showed pictures of areas the general public are not permitted to visit. Really well done tour!
Freddie was a great guide. Tour was very good. We beat the crowds and the heat. We were literally the first bus at the site in the morning.
Punctual early start. Well organised pick up and transfer . Good transport.
Great guide - Freddy - very interesting and informative and helpful - and good humoured - - made the visit and gave us real appreciation and better understanding of not only Chichen Itza but also much broader Myan background and influence and their continuing role and legacy in today's Mexico and the Yucatan.

Very good tour. Our tour guide Freddy was very knowledgeable and did a great job. It is definitely a good idea to do the early access tour to avoid crowds and the heat.
This tour was great the guide Freddie and his Mayan driver were on time and very good . The tour bus was comfortable and the tour was first on site to avoid crowds and heat . The tour in English with Freddie and another guide in Spanish . A small bag lunch was provided .
An excellent tour .
we got there before any crowds. we got picked up at 5am from the hotel so you need to be an early riser. but we got to Chichen Itza before anyone else so we're able to see everything without any crowds.
The engish tour guide is brilliant, so friendly and informative.
The lunchbox thats provided is just a ham and cheese sandwich, biscuit, banana and juice and water - so if you do not eat ham then id suggest taking something youself. a lot of the people on the trip ate the lunchbox for breakfast as it wassuch an early start.
The tour itself is amazing, the guide makes sure you get to see everything and have some knowledge about everything. he then gives you some free time before going home.
When we were leaving Chichen Itza there was ques of people coming in - it was starting to get so busy, it is well worth doing the early access tour so that you miss the crowds.
we got back to the hotel at 2ish so still had a full day at the hotel.
We had a great trip to Chichen Itza. Freddie was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable and passionate about this Mayan site. Pack water, bug spray and good walking shoes, it is a big site. Bring a watch because our I phones updated to the different time zone and we ran late for the meeting place.
This was a great tour. Our guide Frank was very knowledgeable and easy going. I'm so glad that we went early and avoided the crowds and some of the heat. Well worth getting up early.
It was a great tour. The tour guide, Freddie, was very knowledgeable. He used different visual aids to explain the Mayan history. His ancestry is of Mayan origin which made the tour very authentic. The early morning was well worth it. Everything went smoothly from the pick-up until the drop-off.
Other than being told two different pickup times and having to wait for a couple that overslept, it was a great trip. Frank did an excellent job explaining. So glad we did the early access! Great pictures and no photo bombs!
Tour was GREAT and the Best time to go is early in the morning, its cooler and you get great pictures with nobody in them as we are the first tour bus to arrive. Freddy was also great and very informative. Definitely recommend this tour. Just do it!
Chichen Itza is one interesting site to visit if you are in Mexico. The historical remnants are breath taking especially that these monuments were built years ago. I was very happy to have selected the Viator Exclusive Early Access to Chichen Itza with a private archeologist, the bus ride, this is because the day gets very hot. We got pick up at the hotel about 6am but its a shared ride so we started the journey about 6:30am. On entering the bus we were handed a breakfast package, the ride is about 2 hrs with 1bathroom break. Our tour guide FRANK and the driver were very welcoming. FRANK/FRANCO really knows his stuff, very informational and he spoke to us in English and Spanish
He educated and showed us all monuments. Also, you are provided with tickets.
Freddy did a great job of providing us information not only during the tour, but also beforehand while riding on the bus.
Great information, and it was really beneficial going early in the day and beating the crowds.
The coach was very comfortable, so we had good sleep on the way despite starting early. the starting early part meanwhile was indeed important as it really got pretty crowded near mid-day. The guide also shared lots of interesting anecdotes about the place and Mayan cultures so overall it was very enjoyable.
We had a wonderful experience with Freddy as our guide. Getting up at 5am was worth it to get there early before all the other tourist buses arrived and the sun hover above. Transportation was smooth and on time. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed this tour the tour guide was wonderful really went out of his way to explain the history of this place
This was an awesome tour. Freddie was our guide and he, along with the bus driver, really made our day. We were picked up on time had a nice, safe drive to Chichen Itza, and learned some history along the way. It really paid to go early before the crowds. We learned so much on this tour, and we had some time to walk around at our own pace and see a few extra things. We highly recommend this tour if you want to go to Chichen Itza.
We did this tour with a local tour company and our tour guide was Freddie. Short and sweet - we were so happy with our tour guide. Freddie was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He took his time and explained everything very well.
This trip was the highlight of our Cancun stay.
Recommend? Yes, going with the specialized tour of having an archaeologist and especially Freddie made this a wonderful time.
Tour was well worth waking up early for. Freddie and Jacinto were both really nice and welcoming. Freddie our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the subject matter and in the mix through some humor throughout. Going early to visit Chichen Itza gave everyone a good chance to take some nice pictures and avoid fighting a crowd. After our tour we got a chance to do what we wished for, shop around or continue to look at the ruins. Highly recommend this tour with Freddie as your tour guide and Jacinto helping you to get you there.
