My 2nd visit to wonderful Cartagena. Always stay in historic old city. This time wanted to see more so chose this tour and we were very glad we did. It was a terrific way to see the city. We enjoyed the views from the top level and were very pleased that the narrative was provided via personal earplugs in the language of choice. It was easy to hear and very informative. I would do again.
Excellent way to get an overview of Cartagena. Booked on line hassle free
Booked the tour of Cartegena online easy process. Getting bus on the Port in Cartegena not so easy. Too many passengers for available seats. Long wait wasted time given short cruise stop over. HOHO booth easy to locate but HOHO officials at Port not as easy to locate. Eventual tour was comforable and worth the price paid a better deal (except for the wait") than the price charged by the cruise line. Would do again but would organise to come off Cruise early to get the first bus out. Recommend HOHO get more buses based on bookings and issue tickets with start times to manage loads..
Not very good if you are on a cruise ship, not regular enough, good once you are on but you can not hop on hop off,too long before the next one comes along.
We booked this tour online ourselves, instead of through the cruise line. The cost was about the same, however, booking online allowed us for more time on the tour than it would have if we had book through cruise line. We walked to the nearest stop on the tour, which was not so easy to find, even though we had a map to look at. We had to ask for directions a couple times. When we made it the the stop we checked the bus schedule that was posted there and were relieved to see that the bus should be coming in about 7 minutes. So we waited. We waited over 30 minutes past the time that was posted on the schedule and gave up. We started walking, heading toward the town and towards another bus stop on the tour. After about 15 minutes we saw the tour bus and were able to wave it down. By this time we are very hot and not very happy! We were able to board the bus. The next stop for this bus was at the very spot we had just spent almost 40 minutes waiting at! The tour we were able to experience was ok. We had headphones and were able to listen to the narration along the tour. We stayed on the bus until tour was over. At each stop, the narration told us we could get off and the bus would be by in 40 minutes to pick us up again. We were afraid to get off, not being optimistic that we would actually get picked up again! So we stayed on the tour bus til the end, even though we would have liked to exit it at least once to tour one of the sites. We were very disappointed in the tour because of the bus not being on time that was posted on their schedule. The tour itself was fine.
First: There was no representative when we disembarked the ship and no sign of a bus. After waiting a long time, we got on another bus ($20). At the first picture stop we found a hop-on hop-off tour bus and consulted the on-board guide. She said we were on the right bus and took our vouchers. We went through 5 or 6 stops and she directed to get off at stop #2 in order to get back to the ship. We walked about 2 miles and got a taxi for the rest of the trip to the ship. She said the bus did not go to the ship. Upon arrival at the ship there was our tour bus.
We scheduled this tour while on a cruise. It was very difficult finding the pickup location based on information provided by Viator. No schedule was provided with the voucher, so did not have the times for each stop. Voucher indicated that the tour started at 9am at Rafael Nunez Museum. We paid for a cab to take us ther abou about 8:30am. When we got there, the Museum was closed so did not know what time we would be picked up. We did not feel safe just standing and waiting so hired a cab to take us to shopping area. At that location we found a hotel that provided us with a map/schedule for HOHO and Rafael Nunez was stop # 5 not # 1 and would not have picked us up until 9:45am. We finally got on the bus after 10:00am near the hotel, but at this point by the time we got on the bus, we could not do the entire tour since the company took a luch break between 12;00 - 1:30pm and we needed to return to the ship by 12:30pm. All in all this was not the right choice while cruising and Viator did a poor job of explaining/providing what we needed to do this tour.
