What You Can Expect

Grand Cayman Tour

Turtle Farm, Cayman Island

Your friendly guide will pick you up from your Georgetown hotel and accompany you to many Cayman Islands top attractions. Visit the Conch Shell House, renowned for its construction using more than 4,000 conch shells. Learn how this historical landmark, used by the US Navy in World War II as a bomb depot, has survived Grand Cayman hurricanes and floods.

At the Pedro St James Great House, a national historic site, gain an understanding of the past through multimedia exhibits at the visitor center. Explore the restored ‘Pedro Castle’ with your guide and learn about its function for more than two centuries, including as a courthouse, jail and Government Assembly. See where Grand Cayman officials met in 1831 to form the first elected parliament and in 1835 to abolish slavery in the islands.

Stop at Seven Mile Beach, one of the world's most gorgeous beaches and the most beloved in the Cayman Islands – popular for parasailing and snorkeling over the shallow reef. Enjoy breathtaking sights of the crystal-clear Caribbean as you stroll over powder-fine coral sand.

When you arrive at the nearby Cayman Turtle Farm, the world’s only farm raising green sea turtles, get a close encounter with a yearling in the touch tank and wading pools. Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity as you pick up a sea turtle, and learn about their life cycle – from the tiny hatchlings to the big breeders that swim in the lagoons. At the Genesis Pond, view mature green sea turtles and see their nesting sites at the nearby beach. If you visit the turtle hatchery from May to October, you can watch new hatchlings make their way through the sand!

Afterward, your guide will transport you to 'Hell', so named for the unique rock pools that glow orange when the sun reflects off the water collected in these natural formations. After exploring the landscape, which resembles burning hellfire, feel free to send a postcard home – postmarked from 'Hell.’

Complete your tour with a visit to the Tortuga Rum Shoppe and sample the Caribbean's original rum cakes and Tortuga duty-free rum before drop-off at your hotel.
