Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Chicago City Hop-on Hop-off Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
We started our tour on 10/8/15 at the Willis Tower. Before our first stop our bus was involved in an accident. A woman backed her car into our bus, twice! We waited forever to get going and then pulled over a couple streets up. We sat for at least 15 minutes waiting to get a narrator and then had to change buses because ours had a cracked windshield. This process seemed very unorganized. The rest of our tour was very informative and delightful!
Whenever we are in a new city we always try to book a bus tour. It is simply the best way to make the most of the time available and with the option to hop off you can take in all the attractions that take your fancy. Our guide, Kevin, was particularly good. His dry sense of humour appealed to us and he had great knowledge of the Windy City.
The tour was informative, interesting, and fun. I wish I could recall the name of the young lady who was the tour guide for the first part of our tour she was educational and was obviously passionate about sharing her love for the city.
We did the 48hr tour which is great value not only allowing us take the daytime but also the nighttime tour which shows Chicago in a different light literally ! A great way to get to know your way around
Really good and informative. never waited long for a bus. went on the night tour which was great. only small complaint is they clean the buses and don't wipe the seats so first people on end up with wet bottoms!
I really enjoyed the tour and the knowledge the guides had. I would do this again and recommend to others.
Thanks again for giving me a great experience.
Love Viator's hop on hop off. We used this for 2 days and were able to see all the relevant sites of Chicago. Avoid Little Italy, as it is no longer Little Italy - maybe it's now Asia Town. There is absolutely nothing to see there. The thing with us going to Little Italy is that it is one of the last stops on the neighborhood tour, so instead of waiting 45 minutes for the bus to loop around we just took the subway back to downtown. Go to Pilsen and Germantown instead. The bus is very convenient and a pleasant experience. Take the loop once around and then figure where you want to stop. Our guide was very informative. Bus was clean, etc.
Very friendly and knowledgable drivers and tour guides. The routes cover all of the areas that a tourist would wish to visit and the timetables allow for visits to all of the tourist attractions. The free tee shirt that is available for all ticket holders was a bonus.
Enjoyed every moment of the tours. The tour guides were fantastic.
Knowledgeable guides, but some did not speak clearly, so hard to understand
Well priced and well resourced.
Had used similar hop on hop off service in San Francisco which apart from Fishermans Wharf or Union Square you had to sort of flag them down and know where the stops kinda were located.
Handy difference in Chicago for most of the stops was either a sign clearly showing the stop or with an in place red jacket wearing team member there to manage new business and help you out if you needed anything. Different city and can't expect same everywhere but made a little difference that helped get my bearings in a new city. First time visit to Chicago.
Buses were plentiful and never a long wait at all. Hosts were funny and knowledgeable about the city. Commenting about the features of the city and some history without being too much like stand up all about them. Bought a 48 hour pass which covered my needs and really had great use of the bus to get around and hit the tourist points of interest.
Well run and professional. Great service.
It was real nice . The person talking I think repeated her self too much
Great tour guides. Very knowledgeable and some of them very funny. We did the night tour as well. Would definitely do it again!
This was a wonderful tour - highly recommend for anyone visiting the city !
Great tour to enable visiting the city main sites. Many buses on the road, that is appreciated.
My wife and I were very happy with all the tourds and would recommend them to anyone
On a trip across the States and took in city tours in several cities. This was by far the best - our guide Shannon? was fantastic, great commentary on history, architecture, places of interest, people of interest. Made the city come alive for us and made us want to come back to explore more. Very good value and worth the time.
Great way to see the city. Neighborhood tours are a nice addition to the city loop tour. Drivers and guides are friendly knowledgeable and professional.
A good experience. The guides had a lot of good information for out of City visitors. I had lived 57 years just 30 miles away and was in and out of the city during those years. But it was very good for my 18 year old grandson who had never been to Chicago.
Learned so much about the city, and the tourist guides were very funny and accommodating. saves a lot of money from cabs and ubers
This was actually more than we expected! It was not just hop-on-hop-off, you had a tour guide on the bus who pointed out interesting things along the way. This is a great way to see some of the downtown area!
Great way to see a lot of the city in a relatively short amount of time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience so much better. We did not get off so we could continue to hear her talk about the architecture and the great city of Chicago! Really a must do. I used to live in Chicago and I learned a lot!
We loved traveling about on the tour. The first time round we just went from beginning to end to see where we would be interested in getting off. Our guide was entreating as well as informative. I always enjoy learning about the areas I am traveling in. The frequency of buses was a bonus and the areas of stopping was worthwhile. I would definitely use this service again.
