The tour was very interesting---the docent, Angela, was very informative and energetic. Learned a lot about Art Deco in general as well as got to see lots on interesting examples in the city. The tour was a nice length as well. Highly recommended!
Wow! A great walk that really helped me understand art deco - highly recommended
Amazing! This is an amazing tour! Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable!
This was a fantastic walking tour. Our guide was delightful and the outside and inside of the buildings we went into were quite spectacular. Highly recommend!
the guide is helpful and informative. It's a special experience for us to immerse in the Art Deco Architecture by walking through these fantastic building.
The docent was very knowledgeable, friendly and open to answering any question. Practical use of headset technology. Great value!
The tour was everything we hoped for. We saw excellent examples of Deco architecture in one of the coolest cities in the country. Our guide, Barbara, was excellent and very informative. She definitely had some "connections" (definitely legal!!!) that allowed us to see some things that the general public may not be able to see. I would rate this tour a 10!
I have always loved Art Deco, so this tour was just what I wanted. The guide was very informative and well versed in the elements of art deco. The length of the tour was just right.
Wonderful tour, with a charming and knowledgeable guide. Definitely worth the money, but do book in advance!
What a great way to see Chicago and learn about a creative time in architecture. Informative guide and the tour was well paced to see a lot. The listening devices helped greatly. No piece of information was lost. Highly recommend this short 2 hour walk around Chicago.
A must do! While we had admired many of the buildings we saw on the tour having the history of the Art Deco movement and the buildings explained was worth the cost. The tour guides are passionate about their subjects.
The steet tour was very enlighting, the tour guide a very experienced and nice one we really enjoyed it thanks.
Extremely knowledgable guide, fantastic tour -- amazing buildings and deco interiors -- highly recommended: best tour ever!
This tour was wondeful. Wear comfortable shoes because you move quickly. I saw great examples of the art deco style of architecture both inside and outside of the buildings. The lobbies are just beautiful. Definitely worth the price. My guide was enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable about this style. Dont miss the Art Institute across the street!
I wished we could have gone into more of the buildings, but other wise it was great and our guide was wonderful.
It rained to much som the walk was cancelled. Instead we walked the old skyscrapers. That walk was very good. However it should bed one hour longer and include more indoor visits.
Enjoyed the tour with three friends, the guide was well informed and kept control of the group of a dozen or so people. Great to learn about Chicago history and architecture. FYI: the guide doesn't accept tips- thu he earned one!
Good tour--and guide--wish we could have seen more interiors. Wear very comfortable shoes!
One of the tour guides said that the city of Chicago is an outdoor art gallery. This tour really helped to point out how true this is! Great tour with helpfull information. I knew it was a beautiful city, but after the tour I was able to really appreciate and understand it's buildings and history.
The guide was informative and knowledgeable. We were pleased to do the activity. She didn't really allow times for questions and often spoke over her shoulder and as the day was windy we sometimes couldn't hear her directions.
Tour guide was excellent. The tour was interesting and could have been made better by being longer so we could see more example of Art Deco in Chicago.
On May 17 at 10:45 am, my husband and I showed up for the 11am art deco walking tour only to be told that it had left at 10 am. It seems that the time was changed after I had purchased my tickets which I had arranged before leaving home. I wasn't sure why an e-mail had not been sent informing me of this but the people at the counter were very obliging and said they could reschedule; fortunately there was a tour on the Sunday morning at 11 am (kind of ironic) so they gave me tickets for that. Unfortunately for us, we both came down sick that night and couldn't make it the next day so tickets went unused. It was one of the things i had really been looking forward to. We did however do the Architecture River Cruise later that day and the guide (who all volunteer) was very knowledgeable about all the buildings along the river, the politics, the egos of the architects, etc. It is certainly something that everyone visiting Chicago should do.
I will also attempt to do the art deco walking tour the next time I am in Chicago, which is a beautiful City. I will just not book my tour til I get there.
Seeing the buildings and Art Deco aspects were good, but we ended up with a very mediocre docent, who dragged out the tour an extra 20 minutes with information that was, at best, peripheral to the actual tour. She read off of notes (literally read them to us) and when asked where the term Art Deco came from, she had no idea.
