Changing of the guard at the palace during one of our photo stops. Our tour guide knew exactly where we should stand and exactly how we needed to move to various areas to get the best views and photos.

Despite the traffic, this colourful, working horse drawn vehicle was going about its business. This is an excellent example of the wild contrasts in this delightfully cosmopolitan and vivid city.

A beautiful vista, taken from a bridge over one of the numerous canals and featuring a tourist canal boat as well as the less attractive heavy traffic. Note the magnificent buildings and the unique spiral church steeple in the distance.

A strikingly unusual monument close by the City Hall Square where I sat 'people watching' whilst waiting for our excellent bus tour to start and my wife to return from an extended visit to the local shops.

The Old Port. A beautiful part of the city, excellent for both its atmosphere and the cafes and restaurants.

Caught only in the distance, but what an extraordinary spire. Sadly, we saw it only from our tour bus and, despite the excellence of our guide, I can't remember what it was called.

I caught this out of the corner of my eye whilst on our city tour. Again, I'm sure our guide told us what it was called and some of its history but I can't remember the detail. This lovely city is full of such delights.
