Our tour guide David was fabulous, he really did a great job. We really enjoyed the canal/harbor side boat ride. Wish we had more time there. Had to shorten the harbor cruise to catch the ship, but it was worth taking a shorter canal ride than no canal ride at all.
Beautiful city. Tour gave us a good view of the main sights of the city.
Our excursion started very poorly, due to a "Marathon" event which excluded approx 50% of this tour route.
Driver said "Not worth doing now".so they offered another tour "Hop on Hop off" bus pass instead.
Covering both "Red and Green" systems over 48 hours. Although we only used it on the one day.
Think this more than compensated us. Oyher than that is was a very good excursion.
The coverage and timing of this trip was very good, with a totally different (positive) perspective being gained from the canal cruise. We were slightly disappointed that the tour did not pick up near the cruise port.
It was an absolutely beautiful day in Copenhagen. It would have been hard not to have a wonderful time. The initial problem we had was that there were no instructions on our tour confirmation about what to do when we got off the ship. After looking unsuccessfully for a Viator representative, we asked around and finally were told that we should get on the green Hop On/Hop Off bus. The driver told us to talk to the supervisor at the first stop which was downtown near the Tivoli Garden. He then told us where to wait for the tour. We ended up having to take the noon tour instead of the 10AM because it had taken us so long to figure out what we were supposed to do. We had gotten off the ship at 9:30, but it was after 10 by the time we got downtown. The tour itself was okay. The bus had the pre-recorded information and there were no stops. The cruise of the canals and harbor was really nice.
Very good tour. Lots to see. We didn't know the Town Hall was so far from the port, but an employee of the hop on/hop off tour let us ride their bus into town where we met our bus. Then for the harbor cruise we were allowed to get off near the Little Mermaid and walked back to the ship from there.
The bus tour was OK, but they dropped us at a place for a boat tour where noone knew what to do with us. They finally pointed us in the direction of our boat, but it had no cover when it was pouring rain. Therefore, we could not take it.
I am giving it 3 stars because of the awkwardness of making connections to and from the tour bus. The description for the tour needs to be updated. 1) Look for the Red City Tour bus at the port to get to the actual tour bus. 2) The bus tour of the city was as expected and the canal tour was comprehensive. 3) Returning to the ship is problematic. Idea of walking back to the ship does not work for the northern docks. After we got off of the canal tour, we used a city map to find the New Harbor (Nyhaven) for a wonderful lunch. From there we had to walk back (not a short walk) to the Mermaid site before we boarded again the red tour bus back to the ship. Had to show boat id to get on. This was not a problem in the end but the authorizations were from two different sources. Getting to the tour bus from the ship was from this tour company. The bus back to the ship was from the ship sponsored tour. Lucky for us that they both used the same bus company. Problem was that we had not idea how to get back to the ship from the Mermaid site until we got there and happened to find the tour bus again. On a happier note, Copenhagen is wonderful and if possible more that one day could be spent there e.g. Tivoli Gardens. etc. We saw Tivoli Gardens on the Amazing Race but we had no time in one day to get into the park. We bought this tour because the ship did not list this tour online prior to sailing. Once on board, we could have gotten this tour from the ship. The cruise line did not list it, I guess, because the day we were in Copenhagen was the last day of the one cruise and the first day of the Baltic cruise. No excuse in my mind but that is how it was.
There is no getting off of this bus. It follows the same route as the Hop On, Hop Off which we prefer.
