Small-Group Cusco Bike Tour
Meet your guide at the archeological site of Puca Pucara, located just 6 miles (10km) outside of Cusco. Here, you'll first explore the complex, which acted as an important military and administrative center during the Inca Empire. Walk past the terraces, walls and staircases and learn about the importance of Puca Pucara from your knowledgeable guide.
Then, jump on your bike and begin pedaling toward the archeological site of Qenqo. This place once acted as a ceremonial center and significant place of worship for the Inca people. While many of the mysteries of Qenqo are yet to be unraveled by historians, it is thought that human and animal sacrifices may have occurred here many centuries ago. The amphitheater and temple were used for public ceremonies and the network of steps, holes and canals were surely used to deposit and store maize. After spending time at this enthralling site, continue riding to the Temple of the Moon, another interesting site full of mystery.
Then, it's on to Sacsayhuaman, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and wonderful example of ancient Incan architecture. Admire the different patterns in the stone walls and try to figure out just how these huge stones arrived to this location – no one knows for sure!
Finish the journey by hopping on your bike and gliding downhill towards one the most impressive Incan sites within Cusco, the Koricancha, or Temple of the Sun, where it is time to say goodbye to your friendly guide and your Cusco cycling tour ends.
