We were very fortunate in that we were the only couple on the safari, and so got a luxurious 4x4 to ourselves. Driver was really friendly. Had a fantastic morning. Realised I am a better snow-skier than sand-boarder. We went in January, when it wasn't too hot. Walking back up the dunes is hard work, so wouldn't fancy it so much in the summer heat! Definitely recommend though.

Great trip to go on if you've got half a day to kill and want to get some exercise in. Sandboarding is a lot of fun and we got a in a few hours of dune bashing too. The whole thing lasted from roughly 900 am at Dubai hotel to 1230 ish back in Dubai. The guide was very friendly and I had a blast dune bashing but especially sand boarding down this huge sand dune. Bring a towel to clean up with. They have watersodas in the truck. Go earlier to beat the heat and the crowds. Top off the second half of the day with a trip to the Dubai mall to go snowboarding!

If you really want ample time to try sandboarding, obviously this is the trip to go on. I know others who went on the Desert Safari and were disappointed that they only got one attempt at sandboarding. Ironically, as my guide informed me, because the Desert Safari is so popular very few people book this tour. I signed up for the group tour, but it ended up being a private one. It was only me and the tour guide in the Dubai desert for 1.5 hours. And because the desert is devoid of people in the morning, the guide can really careen over the dunes for some fantastic sand dune bashing. I enjoyed sandboarding, but just be aware walking up sand dunes is tiresome.

Fun trip. Punctual pick up and drop off. 4 X 4 dune bashing great, very skilled driver and quite breathtaking at times - just ask my wife! Don't expect too much from the sandboarding or camel ride though. The dunes are only small, but high enough to walk up a few times in 32 degrees, and the boards are knackered - but worth a try.

It was an amazing trip. Funfilled, adventurous and a very memorable one. Very exciting and a must do activity in Dubai.

The view was amazing but ..... the sandboards were snowboards!!! You can't use a wax bottom board on the sand. YOU DON'T MOVE Bottom line the boards need to have either a plastic, wood or metal bottom to them in order to slide. I thought these existed and these where what we were going use but no. Other the the fact you shimmy yourself down the Dune. Guide was very nice. SUV was very nice and the drive didn't take too long. left by 830 and was back by 1130
