WOW! This trip was amazing. If you are on a tight schedule and need to see the highlights, I highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide was Norman and he was very pleasant to have on our trip. He was very informative when he needed to be but he also gave us the chance to just sit in silence and enjoy the sights. He stayed with us the entire 3 days and took care of every need. For instance, when there was a delay in one of the trains, he volunteered to watch all of our heavy luggage while we went out to a nearby pub for dinner. All in all, the sights along the trip are gorgeous. We had breathtaking views around the Ring of Kerry and Cliffs of Moher and the weather was surprisingly good when we needed it to be. We went in May and it rained on and off throughout the day so I definitely recommend a rain jacket if you go when we did. We're very happy we decided to leave Dublin for a few days and get a taste of REAL IRELAND.
The tour guides took us all in hand from the moment we met them at the train station for the beginning of our journey, to the end when we returned to the train station 3 days later. We happened to have relatively great weather for January, wonderful others sharing the experience, and we stayed at a wonderful Hotel in Galway, the International Hotel. Getting up the stairs to get to the Blarney Stone was a bit of a challenge for these old knees, but it got done and was well worth it. The grounds around the Blarney Castle are exquisite. Don't miss the wonderful stores there too! As far as the Ring of Kerry, the walk to the waterfall/rain forest area was not long, but I plan to go back to spend more time hiking to see the volcano rim that you can reach with a longer hike. We simply didn't have enough time to do that. Highly recommend this trip, as a visitor you don't have to worry about a thing.
In October 2013, my husband and I took this tour with my parents as part of a larger trip in Europe. This tour was the highlight of our trip and we would all take the tour again in a heartbeat. John, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, organized, and helpful. He got to know each person on the tour and made everyone feel welcome. The tour is a great way to see the best of what Ireland has to offer in a limited amount of time. I feel it was a great value. As a tip--punctuality on the bus is rewarded.
Enjoyed our tour, times spent in each area was just right. Our B and B was great and located close to town, which allowed us to walk to get dinner.
RailTours was great. David Gallagher was the best guide. Very informative.
Good combination of rail and coach.
Accommodations were wonderful.
We found the tours excellent. Good friendly staff. Informative tours and hospitable accommodation
Would recommend it to anyone.
Very well done and the tour guide was delightful and informative! Would highly recommend this tour.
I did the tour early September 2013. The weather was lovely and the site were beautiful. Our tour director Brian was knowledgeable, kind and entertaining. The tour itself was great we got to see and do a lot of things. If you go ask for Brian as your tour guide.
My boyfriend and I took a three day rail tour from September 2-4 in Ireland, run by Railtours Ireland. Brian was our tour guide during our tour - not only did he give us great information, he brought us great sunshine during our trip. Spectacular weather, people and guide - this rail tour was top notch.
Highly recommended. Cannot thank Brian enough for his knowledge and warmth. A group of 30 - no issues with good laughs and good fun.
Kissing the Blarney Stone, seeing the King of Kerry and taking in the cliffs of Moher. This was truly a magical cliff.
Plus we got engaged!
Great tour with everything there's to see and with great guides such as Bob from "railtours Ireland".
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour! Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Our transportation and accommodations were great. It was an excellent way to see a lot in a limited amount of time. A great value. We would highly recommend it.
I definitely recommend this 3 day tour especially if you're short on time! Everything was wonderfully planned, we were never forgotten about, our pickups were always on time, our guides were wonderful (we especially loved Bob), the hotel they booked was gorgeous, they really take care of everything. Not only that, but for our Cliff of Moher day trip my sister and I were the only people on the tour and they didn't cancel! My only complaint is that the driver/guide on our Ring of Kerry tour seemed like he was in a bit of a rush (he was a wonderful guide, don't get me wrong; very friendly and knowledgeable. I blame half of his rushing on the other people on our tour, they also seemed like they were in a rush). I really can't say enough about how wonderful this company is. I would definitley book a trip from them again (and again)!
Great organized tour. I loved how everything was taken care of and I didn't have to worry about a thing! Also, I enjoyed the amount of free time offered in every stop and evenings.
The Best!!!! Every intense, every minute was information, humour and scenery at its best. The tour guides were so informative and humorous. Such a delight. We covered alot of territory in three days. B+B was abit out of town, but we walked it and actually worked out ok. Euguine our host was so kind and went out of his way to help us. Even drove us into town. Entire bus tour worth every penny and would recommend this tour in a heartbeat.
It was a fantasitc tour! Also, the tourguards, especially the bus drivers, are so knowledgable! I really appreciate your great and hard work.
We had a great time on this trip and everything we saw was what we expected. It was very well organised and the guides were fantastic.
Excellent!!! The tour guide was awesome, the food, the landscape, irish people were very friendly, the buses where always clean, the B and B the chose very very nice!!! Would totally recommend it!!!!!
Was the best, the views were fanstic. Sit on the right side of the bus if you can. Stay at the hotel , the B and B can be a walk into town, ours was 20 min walk and several were father.
The tour was breath taking. The tour guides were excellent (curteous and knowledgeable). Nothing was rushed and there was plenty of time to enjoy the stops. A special note: Our hotel wouldn't hold our luggage while we took the tour so the tour guides WILLING helped us with our luggage along the way. Thank you tour guides! Jim and Sylvia Tarro
This was by far the BEST trip of our entire 2-month itinerary. I am so pleased with the service, especially of the family from Killarney and the tour office there. Our guides were ALL amazing. It was completely hassle-free, laid-back, fun, entertaining, and enlightening. DO this tour!
It was a well run tour - very pleased with everything from the tour guides - Bob B.,Eilish,Dennis M., and Jim. The train, bus, and cab connections were spot on also. The B and B accommodation was fabulous - the owner Eugene was friendly, helpful, And very personable and his Irish breakfasts were yummy. Plus, his home was very neat and clean and comforatable!
We had a great trip last week! Our tour host, Dave Gallagher, was exceptional in the way he got to know each person on the trip. Throughout the 3 days he continued to be very engaged with our group and made us feel special. Two suggestions we would give: 1. We would have liked at least another 1/2 hour at Cliffs of Moher -- that's a highlight and there is a lot to see and do there. 2. More warning about the castle steps I think would be helpful. Not just how many, but that they are very narrow and the passageway is very narrow and once you start up there is no going back until you reach the top. My husband has a hernia and the steps were not good for him. Also, if anyone has claustrophobia it could be a scary experience. The whole trip was wonderful and beautiful, inspite of rain. Loved the place we had lunch on Thursday overlooking the ocean. The bus drivers were amazing -- we felt very safe with them, even though the roads were so narrow and windy. Oh, and I must say the sheep dog demonstration should not be an option -- that was a real highlight!
