I enjoyed the rugged beauty of the Island. The tour guide/driver was very knowledgeable and made many stops. I learned a lot of history that day.
The most amazing tour ever! Great tour guides on all parts of the tour (the train from Dublin to Galway, the driver of our bus on Inis Mor). Absolutely fantastic time, gorgeous scenery and absolutely loved the privacy of the secluded island of Inis Mor. Again, would have loved more time to explore the island on foot, but what we saw, I would absolutely come back again.
Such a beautiful place. I went there on autumn, thus there was minimum tourists and we got to enjoy the tranquillity and charm of Inishmore fully. The mini plane experience was so much fun and thrilling especially when you got to sit right behind of the pilot seeing him manoeuvring the plane. People there are simple and happy. Also the stone walls are all around the island making the view really magnificent. Dun Aonghasa fortress is my personal best! We walked up the hill and the rewards of reaching the cliff top was unreal as the view was gobsmackingly amazing where the blue sky and ocean combined forming a wonderful contrast with the dark rocks! 100% worthwhile! Train took off from Heuston Dublin and the guide worked his best ensuring us a safe and enjoyable train trip by making sure everything was fine enjoying the fascinating Irish scenery along the train journey.
I really didn't get a lot of sleep as I was up late with friends in Temple Bar the night before my tour of the Aran Islands, but I'm so happy that I choose this tour!! The drive around Galway, especially around Conamara is stunning! The Galway airport is very small, but perfect for my flight out to the Islands. The plane was tiny, about 8 people plus the pilot total on the flight out. There are three Islands, but I only went to the biggest one, Inis Mor, and it was amazing to see a whole different way of life. The residents of the Island are so sweet and really proud of their home. There is so much rural beauty to take in throughout the whole area. My advise is to go and explore and don't forget to climb and take lots of pictures of the very famous Dun Aonghasa!!
Great trip. A very long day but definitely worth it. Tour company (I think it's called Railtour) was great to make sure everyone got on the right train, the right bus, plane, etc, very organized. Definitely would recommend this tour.
Well run. We easily met our tour guide at the station and then escorted from the train station in Dublin to Galway. We were given explicit directions as to where to go and when to return to specific meeting places in order to meet our next escort for the next leg of the trip. They was some minimal waiting time between each leg. The plane ride was great, as was our time on Aran Island. The bus driver was very informative. Easily made the return trip. The second escort was even more personable. Well paced.
At first I was a little concerned that this was going to be too long for a day trip, but it was sooooo great!!! Best views ever - absolutely breathtaking!
Although it is a long day with a train/van/plane there and back, it's well worth it - the flight over to Inis Mor is breathtaking and so much fun! Inis Mor is a fascinating place.
Amazing! The flight, the people and the nature on the island. I'll come back! For sure!
Fabulous tour of the beautiful Aran Islands.........long train from Dublin but well worth the trip to see the magnificent sights on this Island.....One of the highlights of my trip to Dublin.....thanks Mike and crew....Karen and Kevin
Fantastic Trip. Very well organised and worth every penny. Frank was an excellent tour guide, we thoroughly enjoyed the chat. I brought my grandfather on the trip and he is still talking about it a month later.
This trip was simply the best - lovely scenery, well planned , and everything or more than we could of wished for. The Aran Islands are worth a vist - even if I am scared of little planes! This was a lovely train journey, a lovely tour in Connamara and flight to Inis Mor.
