Loved it ! The boat trip scenery was beautiful. Liked the Quiet Man bridge and the Abbey also. Ended in Galway city and not Galway Bay , there was nothing really to see there. Overall all was well worth it !!!
Loved this tour. When we told some folks in Dublin we were heading to Connemara, they were not excited for us saying it was a barren, un-beautiful area of Ireland. I beg to differ. I thought the terrain was exceptionally beautiful and unspoiled. The boat ride up the fjord was really exciting and you could just picture the vikings traveling down the waterway hundreds of years before and seeing this land for the first time just as we did. Gab, our guide was exceptional. He was funny, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable not to mention he sang us a few Irish favorites to keep us entertained on the drive back. He made our trip very special and personal. Great memories.- The Brennan Family - USA.
While it was a long day, we had a great time with Sarah as our driver and tour guide on this trip. The small bus was full and the weather was typically Irish, but the scenery and tour stops were perfect. I did enjoy the boat ride on Killary Fjord the best.
A huge thank you to Sarah and the tourist office for contacting us within 30 minutes of leaving the bus when we returned about a package we had left on the bus. We were able to get back to the tourist office and receive it that night before they closed.
We were a small group of 7 n Bud our driver guide is wonderful. He was caring enough to ask if we could take twists n turns so drove with extra care ( I can't take turns but thank heaven for travel pills as well) n took us places not on itinerary as we went along. So we got to see a lot more than a set itinerary. Really appreciated that. We had great experience touring with extreme Ireland thru viator.
I would like to thank Jim who gave me the taste and history of Ireland. Thanks to Viator I had a spectacular day in this special heart of Ireland. I have always been backpacking so I hesitate to book at first.
No regrets: in the contrary! Would love to do it again!
Kylemore Abbey is beautiful, you have to see it. Galway is a fun city with lots of shopping and music. The best part of the tour was watching the sheep herding and bogging. Tour guide Bud is the sweetest person you'll ever meet. This was the best tour of my vacation to Ireland.
Thanks to Laura Gunning (Extreme Ireland), this trip was the highlight of our 10 days in Ireland! My husband and I traveled w/my 79yo mom and Laura paid special attention to her, took her under her wing when mom couldn't join us for things. Because we were there in Feb, the river cruise was out, but lucky us…the trip to sheep farm was ON! We hiked down to bog, saw sheepherding demo, and got to hold and feed baby lambs. We'll never forget it. Stops were well planned and we saw SO MUCH!! Highly recommend this tour. You might want to make sure "Extreme Ireland" is the tour co. that takes you…and ask for Laura! It was a memory-making trip for us.
Very short and very sweet tour. Good for someone who do not have much time but would like to see the natural beauty of Irish countryside. Big thanks to our tour guide Gab - he did very good job telling jokes and many interesting stories!!!
Connemara is beautiful with the two lakes and the Monastic site. Boat trip of Killarey Harbor was beautiful. Galway City was a fun, hip little village, beautiful park. Wish we had just a bit more time there though to see more of the city instead of just the main drag. Great tour guide!
We had a very knowledgeable and informative tour guide (Niall) and enjoyed the trip very much. We had a great group of diverse people and the Irish scenery is amazing. I travel to Ireland frequently for business but always try to go somewhere different each time. This is a fabulous way to tour. Thank you
We had a great tour guide. He gave us so much of the history of Ireland and each area we went through. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the area is beautiful. We were not as much thrilled with the boat trip. More of a repeat of what we had already seen and heard about on the bus tour and it was terribly crowded.
So great - loved the sheep dog show - best part of the trip! In addition to watching the skills of the dog, we were able to try our hand at cutting sod. I felt like I was a real Irish-woman! Wonderful wonderful trip and our guide Kevin was fantastic!! Thanks!!!
We left Dubln in the early hours by bus. It was a great trip seeing the countryside, and the quiet towns and villages. Damien was a great tour guide. He had many interesting facts and stories to share about the areas. The Pub we stopped at for lunch was excellent. Best Fish and Chips we ever had. The cruise was very nice, the the Abbey stop was so peaceful. The only suggestion I have is to eat before getting to the boat. Their meal selection was very limited. The food they offered was good though.I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see the real Ireland and breath in the culture of the land. Try to get Damian as your tour guide, you will learn a lot about Ireland's history, present and future plans. He has great stories to keep you entertained.
we loved it would encourage everyboby to o on this tour had a great time
This tour was fabulous. Our tour guide was patient, knowledgable, friendly and made our day tour interesting and fun. He was helpful and was happy to do anything he could to make our day an enjoyable one. This tour showed us some spectacular sights in Ireland and no visit to Dublin would be complete without seeing this lovely area of Ireland. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Thanks for a wonderful day.
I was afraid the day might get too long, but it wasn't bad at all with the new motorway heading across to Galway. Connemara is a wonderful, rugged part of Ireland, and no trip to the Emerald Isle would be complete without visiting the west. We had dreadful weather, but still a fun time. You will, of course, be in the bus for a great deal of the time, but it was broken up by fairly frequent stops. We had nearly two hours at Kylemore Abbey and a full hour in Galway to explore. And our driver, Bud, was very friendly and fun.
This trip was great! We were making good time, so our driver was thoughtful enough to make a few extra stops. He was very knowledgeable, and the boat ride in the fjord was beautiful. Even my 11 year old son enjoyed it. I definitely recommend this trip.
It was a lovely day, the driver (Mike) was great and certainly knew his history. I would highly recommend this tour as it offers an opportunity to see the "green" of Ireland. We asked to be dropped off in Galway instead of returing to Dublin-we (and our luggage) were accommodated and the driver even dropped us to our hotel at the end of the tour.
We had a very small group but Ger was a great guide. Gave us lots of great info and was extremely flexible and accommodating, and knew where to stop for the best photos. We had a great day and loved the trip!
If you remove the bus accident which delayed our trip for ninety minutes and removed the fact we didn't stop in Galway which doesn't have much to do but shop Connemara is not to be missed! Due to th accident, we did not have enough time at the Abbey to see the castle or garden.
The BEST part of this tour was going to Killary Sheep Farm. It was there where we saw Roy, the dog, listen very carefully to Tom, his owner, and round up the sheep. It was amazing, and so funny for some reason. The best part of the whole entire day was bottle feeding the baby lambs and holding the baby lamb! Seriously made my trip. I've wanted to be up close and personal with the sheep for my whole time in Ireland. Apparently they only go to the sheep farm during winter months and I'm so happy it was still March and I could do that. When I booked the tour I was a little bummed I wasn't going to do the boat tour but this was so much better.
Our tour guide was okay, didn't talk very much. I like it more when the tour guide talks and tells you stories and history. We barely got any of that.
Also, this tour has A LOT of bus time so if you can't stand being on a bus I wouldn't take it. Lots and lots of driving but it was beautiful even if the weather was a little crazy at times. Wish we could have had a bit more time in Galway City, not just 1 hour. Lots more to see and there.
