This was a wonderful trip. My husband, daughter and I met the Railtours staff at Heuston Station in Dublin. Everything was totally organized. The train ride was wonderful, beautiful countrysides full of sheep and cows. We arrived in Cork and switched to the bus. Our tour guide Noel was just terrific. He has a lot of kowledge and encouraged people to ask questions. We loved the visit to the Blarney Castle and the town of Cobh. The Colman's Cathedral was beautiful and the views were amazing. The Queenstown story was very interesting and we enjoyed visiting this museum. Noel sat with us on the train for a long period of time and answered many questions about Ireland. He gave us wonderful advise on how to use the train out of Dublin using a 10 euro ticket. We made it to the fishing town of Howth where we saw seals, the lighthouse and the castle. We then went on to Malahide where we rode the little tourist train thru the town and got dropped at the castle. We are so glad we took this rail trip and met Noel who made both trips wonderful!
The tour was everything we expected and more.. I highly recommend Viator - we had an amazing time.
Liam was a wonderful guide and Barry a great driver on those tiny roads. I felt like I was well taken care of the whole trip from train to coach to castle and back. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for a nice day tour from Dublin.
Blarney Castle was very interesting to see and the grounds of the castle are very beautiful. There is even a small cave you can go through right next to the castle! There is great shopping and great food where the bus stops before your on your way to the next city! If you have time you should take this day trip.
Absolutely beautiful...ample time to explore...every one loved this trip
We took 2 day tours by train and this one was the best. Traveling by train is the only way to go to see the beautiful Irish countryside. The day was beautiful and the grounds at Blarney Castle were to die for. We loved exploring the castle and especially kissing the Blarney stone. Touring the cathedral and museum at Cobh was fantastic. We really liked our bus driver and tour guide as they really enhanced our experience and made the day fun.
Absolutely loved the tour! The guide, Peter was extremely nice and knowledgeable. :-)
This was a fantastic tour. The guides were wonderful. So very kind and full of information. The tour itself was well timed.... a little time with the group and time to be on your own to explore. I really enjoyed being able to take the train and bus. Plenty of time to enjoy the scenery.
Excellent tour.....even missed the first train but hit the second one and the tour bus even came and picked us up......amazing
This was the BEST TRIP!!! We have been on this trip several times with different tours and this was by far and away the best. The Tour Director and bus driver were very accommodating and knowledgeable about this part of the country. The Titanic exhibit was quite an experience, to relive that last port-of-call…., the English market in Cork, the Blarney castle and of course the woolen mills shopping. The tour director took the time to meet and visit with each person on the trip making it a person trip with him and your group (Dave) was WONDERFUL going above and beyond to make this a special trip for everyone. We would book this trip again.
It's was an awesome tour. Very informative and exciting, our tour guide David from Railtours Ireland was nice and funny. I would recommend this tour to everyone, but it is quite a long day for anyone taking children along.
