We didn't realize you had to tell the drivers to stop at designated stops. Otherwise they just passed by.

We were a group heading to Punchestown for the races. The sightseeing done was interesting - but EXPENSIVE, however the trip taken on the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus was real value for the money.

I love the city bus tours! We take them in every city we visit. My complaint is while it is a "24 hour pass" they only operate form 9-5 which math tells us is only 8 actual hours of service! We found the bus tour in Dublin difficult as many of the speakers you connect to with your headphones did not work and had to move around to find ones that did.

One guide was amazing, the rest were ok may have enjoyed walking the city better.

I'm not one to ever complain but my daughter and I had a bad experience towards the end of our day in Dublin. We had used the on/off bus throughout the day and were aware that the buses ran until 530pm. We were on an NCL cruise and had to be back at the ship at the same time. We were at stop 20 at around 445 planning to get on and ride to the end of the route in time to meet our taxi back to the ship. We waited 15 minutes and finally saw the big red bus coming, the driver looked right at us and shook his head no. He then stopped at the red light just past us so we ran up to the bus and waved at him to let us on. He again gestured no and drove off. We ended up walking, getting lost and feeling very panicked but finally found our taxi and barely made it back to the ship on time. I now understand that stop 20 was the end of the route but I do not understand how a driver could pass us up so blatantly.

Ends earlier than other tour companies. All go to the same attractions, but a tour that ends later comes in handy when you want to hit the last tour at Guinness or another attraction then get back to your hotel or into town.

Everything was as advertised. It would have been better if there was a live guide doing commentary and not a recording.

I've been on better city sightseeing tours but this was ok. The bus didn't stop at all of the stops and at one point we had to get off and walk to the next stop but in terms of learning about Dublin's history it was definitely good.

Due to the weather turning bad on the Sunday, we did not take advantage of this tour to its fullest. We only used it once and after that we walked around the city. I suggest this is used as a means to get around to see everything quicker. Having said all that, the buses were clean and the conductor / driver was very helpful.

Once 5:30 hit they dropped us off at the last stop without any warning. It should have run later.

The tour was not worth the money. We were surprised to learn that most of the stops covered are walkable only blocks apart. There is some commentary on the bus about each stop along the way that you may find useful, but the same information was also covered in a Dublin guidebook that I had picked up at a bookstore before leaving home.
