Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Giant's Causeway Day Trip from Dublin. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
It was a very long day, but I liked it very much. Driver/guide, David was great with a lot of info about variety related topics. Very polite man. It was enough time on each site to explore it in normal pace.
Really great trip! Thank you.
Beautiful weather entertaining tour guide comfortable coach bus and absolutely awesome countryside.
Our guide was very informative and had answers to all the questions put to him. The Causeway itself should be one of the Wonders of the World. Don't miss it!
What a fantastic day we had! The scenery was beautiful and the Giant's Causeway amazing. Our guide Bud made the day informative and really fun. He arranged for a Black Taxi tour for most of our group in Belfast and that added a fascinating dimension to the day. I would highly recommend this tour!
The tour guide, Bud, was awesome. The route we took was amazing - very scenic. I don't think the description of this tour does it any justice. We ended up in Belfast, took a black cab tour of the city, stopped at a few other places, etc.... It was genuinely one of the best trips I have ever taken.
Amazing trip to with beautiful sights. The tour guide was a great storyteller with a good sense of humour.
A long journey but our driver, Colin, was awesome. He gave us history lessons, told jokes and played some Irish tunes. The Causeway itself was a sight to behold and I loved the folklore describing how it came to be named for giants.
Highly recommended. Our guide, Bud, was extremely accommodating and patient. Not only did he solicit input from the group about specific sights they may want to see, but he also made sure that everyone was comfortable.
This was probably the best excursion of our holiday ...... great attractions, beautiful scenery !!
The Giants Causeway day trip was spectacular. Our guide and driver Jim, was very well versed in Irish history and kept us well informed of it. He was very well spoken as well. It is a long day tour, starting at 6.30 am and ending around 6.00 pm. We had sufficient time to see the sights, i.e. The Rope Bridge, the Giants Causeway and the stopover in Belfast on the way back. Without a doubt, the Giants Causeway is the highlight of the trip, definitely worth seeing.
Beautiful countryside and our tour guide was very entertaining.
Excellent!!!!!! Must do! The natural beauty of Ireland is much better to be seen in person than in photos.
Long day but worth it! Great bus driver very informative and funny!
Enjoyed trip. Rope bridge was fantastic. Enjoyed short visit to Belfast. Long day.
This was a wonderful trip and one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. The day started early and it was a full day. The schedule was really tight but our driver, Eddie, did his best to keep us on schedule. There really wasn't a proper time to eat so you had to balance your time at a site with making time to eat something. There are plenty of chances but it's at the cost of cutting viewing time. It would be nice to have a proper meal like some other tours I've been on. That might be at the cost of cutting out a stop or having a longer day. Overall, it went smoothly and we had a nice time at all the stops. A longer stop in Belfast may have been nice to see more of it but that was the end of the tour and by then we were playing catch up on time. Maybe it needs to be built in to the tour. Highly recommend seeing Giant's Causeway and the Northern Ireland coast. It was beautiful. Expect a full day of travel though.
A long day but worth it! The driver was very knowledgable and friendly. He was not constantly talking, only when there were points of interest or to keep is informed of what was next. Giant's Causeway was like nothing I've ever seen before!
Although it was a long bus ride, there were very frequent stops that made it fly by. We were actually gone from 6:30 am until almost 7:30 pm. 13 hours! I think our tour guide could have given more information about the history and sights, but he did give some. I am most thankful to Viator for arranging a Black Cab Tour in Belfast for 4 of us at 40 pounds for the car. It is normally a 1 hour 45 min tour, but our guide was agreeable to give us the 1 hour tour because that was all the time we had in Belfast. He was ready and waiting for us at the downtown stop in Belfast. I highly recommend you set up a Black Cab Tour rather than just walk around downtown. He drove us to the Protestant and Catholic strife zones and gave a tremendous amount of information in the 1 hour. We saw the murals and the security gates that close between the zones every weekend which continues the prejudice. Our guide actually grew up in the strife zone. The Carrick-a-Rede Bridge stop was even more beautiful than Cliffs of Moher so the whole day was well worth it. Note you have to be able to walk about a mile out to the bridge on hilly terrain and one of my traveling friends was unable to get out to the bridge to see the sights so don't go on this tour if you can't walk hilly distances. The Causeway actually has a shuttle for 1.20 pounds that will drive you out to the sights because it is another 1 mile out there.
It was a great tour and our guide, Shane, (I hope I am spelling his name correctly) was fantastic. He knew a lot of history and made it very interesting. He was also exceptionally professional despite having 2 girls on the tour from South America that were horrible. I don't know how he kept his cool so well but he did and made the trip worth while.
