What an amazing part of the world. It was cold and raining but the walk was exhilarating and the views unforgettable. The guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a great driver.
Joe, was our guide and despite the cold weather he kept the moods up and gave us a great experience. It was better than expected.
Great tour for everyone, particularly those fans of Bally K. Seeing Bally K and eating at Fitzgerald's was a definite highlight
A great way to see some of Ireland's mountains and small villages south of Dublin. Got to see the Wicklow Mountains and the natural beauty. As well as Glendalough area and lakes, St. Kevin's retreat remains; Also Avoca village and the weaver's mill, and the Glencree Center for Peace.
This was our first coach trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery and places of interest were great and our driver Rich was brilliant, very knowledgable and very witty.
The trip was excellent! We saw the mountains (really are hills) the lakes and Avoca. Had a great time!
What a great day out, and the scenery was beautiful, but what made the whole day special was our guide Richie. Congratulations on having such a well- informed, and really pleasant guy working for you, he looked after everyone in the group and we were over 30 pax, included people who were on their own, and just helped us all gel so that by the end of the day we were all friends. A great day for all age groups, my mum is 78 and she thouroughly enjoyed her day too. The food at the restaurant was also very tasty and good value. So glad we booked this trip.
This tour is geared towards hikers and fans of the movie "P.S. I Love You" [a bridge in the Wicklow Mountains] and the UK TV series "Ballykissangel" [the town of Avoca]. If you aren't familiar with either one, do your research in advance.
Aside from that, when you reach Glendalough, you have three choices during the 1 hour 45 minute stop: (1) Hike with the driver/guide to see a waterfall and the upper/lower lakes, (2) Walk around an old cemetery to take pictures of Celtic crosses and headstones bent across pathways due to age and weather, or (3) Sit on a bench and wait for the group to return to the tour bus. When you reach Avoca, you'll be herded into the pub for lunch [at your expense], and the bill will put a dent in your budget. Even fish and chips are expensive in that place.
Overall, the tour is wonderful, because the scenery is amazing.
Excellent tour guide ! Joe knew the area and could explain any question asked. He kept the group up beat and excited about the trip!
The trip we took to Glendalough was excellent. We were a group of 18 and every one really enjoyed it very much. Our tour guide, Trevor was the best guide ever, he was funny and great at his job also very helpful to our group way beyond his remit.
The driver was equally good. We all felt we got very good value.
The value of the trip was great too and it all went to time - despite the freezing weather.
Thoroughly recommend it.
Absolutly fun! The tour guide was full of knowledge as well as quirky comments. Really learnt a lot on the tour, I would defo go with them again and recommend the tour to everyone :0)
This was a very nice trip. Easy to find the pick-up location. Gillian was a great tour guide.
Very professionally run tour, lots of information and amusing commentary. Beautiful scenery and the tour was not too long.
What a wonderful experience! We had not only a small group but the best tourguide ever, and our driver definitely made our trip a memorable one! Thanks so much!
This was an excellent tour. The route was beautiful and the tour guide gave excellent information en route. The coach driver was likewise excellent and the narrow roads very enjoyable due to his superb driving. We stopped at beautiful locations and had ample opportunity to tour Glendalough as well as spend time at Avoca Handweavers including a tour, shopping and lunch. The stop at the Wicklow Gap was spectacular. We departed and arrived in Dublin on schedule and the coach was very comfortable. This is a tour well worth taking. Very enjoyable, very pleasant tour operators and very pleasant group. Highly recommended!
Had a wonderful time,the Driver,Andrew was
friendly, funny and very informative and helpfull,
I loved the scenery and places we visited and would certainly do more trips with this company if I get the chance. Thanks Viator
We had a wonderful day, made so by the dialog and information from the guide. (Even with some of the worst jokes ever told!). The bus driver made the "back" roads of Ireland seem like straight runs.
It was a lovely trip and the driver and guide were well suited to the job. Just one thing we found the visit to the Weaving Mill was just a bit too long. Would recommend this trip to all.
This trip was fabulous! The tour guide was on time, well-informed, kept everyone organized and was very entertaining to listen to. The coach was comfortable and cool (it was a hot day) and the stops were relevant and timed right. We especially enjoyed being able to wander through Avoca for a couple of hours on our own and found Glendalough to be completely worthwhile even though we had no idea what to expect there. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Our tour guide was not just informative; he was a comedian, a singer, a philosopher and left us feeling like friends.
