Nice day trip to the countryside. Jim the guide gave good commentary with history and cultural facts. Very entertaining New clean bus with wifi although not always working. Plenty of time to tour the castle and eat lunch. A good value
To be honest I didnt have too high of hopes for this tour, we booked last minute and the price lets face it is extremely cheap for a full day. But boy was I wrong. Our guide, Jim, was one of the best tour guides Iv ever had. Extremely informative and knowledgeable, but he takes it beyond that. When we were touring around Glendalough he was like a little boy again, excited and eager to share the history and his stories from the place. Highly recommend this trip, you will not regret it.
great trip. Castle was Grand !!! Ate across the street. Good food and peaceful atmosphere. Would do it again and explore further on our free time. It was raining and cold when we got to Glendalough but had been there twice before and still learned something new. Driver and guide were very informative..Colm helped me to find where I needed to go for some family research. A long day but fun.
It was a great tour and the tour guide (Janine) and bus driver (Mick) we very entertaining and knowledgeable.
I took my tour of Kilkenny City and Glendalough from Dublin with Jim and Mick. This was an excellent choice. I was contemplating renting a car for a day and doing a drive in the Irish countryside on my own. I am so happy that I decided to do a day tour with them instead. Jim was extremely informative and warm. I would highly recommend this particular team of driver and guide as well as this itinerary.
Wonderful day! I recommend going on the off-season when there are no crowds. Tour guides were very professional. The driver was a younger man, early 20s, and I was very impressed with his driving skill and safety. It turned rainy, drivers were racing around us and at no time was his attention diverted from the job at hand. Both the driver and the tour guide were very nice. We learned a lot about Ireland and the culture! The tour guide really knew his topics. Glendalough blew my mind, I could have definitely used more time there to just explore. Absolutely beautiful!!
This was a really great tour if you want to venture out of Dublin but not spend many hours in a coach. Kilkenny was a lovely place to visit, especially the castle. Having time to ourselves was good and we could have happily stayed longer. Glendalough is an amazing place to visit with extensive remains of the old monastery and you get a small taste of rural Ireland on the trip back to the city through the mountains. Our gude displayed both his knowledge and passion for Ireland. We were entertained and educated by his commentary. A wonderful day.
We had the chance of a picture perfect day, not a cloud in sight and it was magnificent. I really enjoyed the stroll in the wood beetwen the two lakes, the beautiful views from the higher one, how the forest reflects in the other. The Dunmore Cave is interesting but you don't miss much if you don't go. The drive through the Wiklow Mountains was fabulous.
A great place to go. Neat place and wish we had more time there. Plan on going back and taking the DART to spend the entire day.
