This was a day well spent, everyone in our family of five (including three older "kids" ages 21, 19 and 16). We really did a lot in one day. Everything went like clockwork. Our guide was knowledgeable and agreeable and didn't talk nonstop; he let us rest our brains from time to time! The rail coach and the train are both quite comfortable. The cliffs and the village gave everyone a chance to really get out and stretch our legs. We had a brief stop after sundown in Galway where we were able to grab dinner. Food is very limited on train so recommend grabbing items to go in rail stations (there are many choices) for breakfast and late night snack. You can leave items on the bus during the day while touring which is nice. We stopped to tour a couple of old ruins as well as the village of Bunratty and the Cliffs of Moher and the pub stop for lunch. It really was a great day!
Jonathan our tour guide was Excellent!
Gave us a lot of history and personalized care and travel tips.
It was very easy to find the train station and guides in their bight yellow jackets.
This is a long day trip - but well worth it!!
This tour was AMAZING! The price is very, very reasonable for what you get. Brendan was our tour guide and he was FULL of information and lots of laughs. "Farmer John" was our bus driver, and he was a pleasure to have with us as well. The cliffs are breathtaking as well as the Burren. Brendan was constantly pointing things out to share with us along the journey and he offered plenty of stops for photos. The trip may be all day, but its more than worth it. BOOK THIS TOUR! You won't regret it.
I recommend this tour for anyone that wants to see the Ireland countryside with some awesome stops on the side. The tour guide Brandon was funny and very informative.
Great day trip! We saw so much for one day- wonderful value. The train made the travel from Dublin quick and comfortable. Seeing the castle and the folk village was extremely interesting. The cliffs are absolutely amazing. Photos don't do them justice. Our guide was superb. He was very knowledgeable and narrated the whole experience while on the bus portion of the trip. The details he knew about everything was impressive. He could answer any question anyone asked. In addition, he couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We also liked talking to the other people on the tour. This tour is a must!
Railroad tours provide excellent service from their tour guides to the transportation they use. Using the train for transportation for the bulk of the trip makes it more relaxing then the bus. Their tour provide enough time in each of their stops. The tour guide, Paddy, was well rounded in each of the stops and in Irish history. I could say this was the best tour I have taken in my life.
Our tour guide, Norman, was everything I hoped for. He is filled with so much information. Kept us entertained the entire day. Great tour. Great pics from the the cliffs.
The cliffs are really impressive and the Bunratty castle is really interesting - we were welcomed by people dressed in medieval clothes and we were even able to wander through the village and see a woman cooking inside one of the little houses pretty much as if we were living in that time.
Guide ( Jonathan) was informative and friendly. Tour was great and stops were what we wanted to see in
Ireland. Would recommend this tour! Combination of train and bus was good.
We enjoyed the tour tremendously. Our guide, Brandon, was engaging and knowledgeable, and he made sure that we all knew how to get back to our hotels, which was awesome. The cliffs are spectacular, but we also enjoyed the castle tour, and the landscape at Burren is unbelievable. The whole tour from Dublin to the west coast of Ireland went off without a hitch, and I would definitely do it again. Well worth the money.
In spite of a misty start, which made the stroll in the folk park by the Bunratty Castle even more interesting, the rest of the day was sunny and so the pleasure of discovering new sights was infinite. I had the time to go to the southern peak of Moher Cliffs, the views are incredible. Then the lunch in Doolin was fast and delicious. After the drive through the scenic Burren we've arrived early enough in Galway to catch some shops open. I reccomend The Treasure Chest, the most amazing store I've ever been to.
A great day. The guide made an effort to spend time with each of us on the train and answered any questions that we had. Interesting sites and a "must see" for any visitor to Ireland.
