Awesome tour! Exactly what we were looking for. Perfect balance of guided and independent, great management of transportation, and a good amount of time at each location. Our guide, Johnathan, was excellent, knowledgable, and a ton of fun. The train and bus rides were just as much a part of the tour as the stops, beacuse of the gorgeous views and stories from Johnathan. Highly recommend this tour for a perfect day trip if you have limited time in Ireland and want to get the most out of it.
Lovely tour -Guide Brian and driver John conveyed us safely and educated us on many points of western Irish life. Trip was well worth the money
Enjoyed this trip immensely. The Cliffs were spectacular and The Burren was quite a treat. Loved the Galway Bay tour by buss. The train portion of the trip was really good.
Great well organized trip. Early start 730 am but worth it. Weather did not cooperate, but nothing that was not manageable. Had a little extra time and got a quick walking tour of Galway from our guide Jim.
Perfect weather, scenery, food, rail, and coach. Brendan, our tour guide, couldn't have been more knowledgeable, organized, helpful, and FUN! He went above and beyond to make the day a memorable and FUN experience. This adventure completely made our Ireland experience. Highly recommended--we will be back!
Awesome tour of Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Burren, and Galway Bay! The sites and views can't be beat and the guides were hilarious and very knowledgable. You get a good amount of time at each location to walk around, take tons of photos, and enjoy the views.
The best rail tour we have ever taken. The guides were very knowledgable. The scenery was breathtaking.
A long day, but a great one! We felt like we got to see so much of Ireland on our one day outside of Dublin.
Fabulous, entertaining day spent with a great guide and driver Jonathan and John. If you do not have a lot of time to travel about this is a great day trip out of Dublin.
It was a beautiful tour and well worth the time we traveled to see everything. I would recommend motion-sickness meds for anyone who struggles with motion-sickness...The roads were pretty windy. My daughter and I struggle with motion-sickness and we were fine, but we did take our meds beforehand. Again... well worth the trip and we would go on the trip again.
Our tour giude Peter was superb! The weather was top notch so we were able to see far and wide. Peter was very knowlegeable, helpful, and pleasant. He kept a great pace so that we could see many sights and still be able to eat, relax, and catch our trains on time. We would highly recommend this tour
This is an amazing tour. I highly recommend it to all first time visitors to Ireland. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. A great time was had by all tour participants.
This rail trip was an excellent way to see the Irish countryside! Our tour guide Johnathan was excellent, he shared a lot of history and was very informative. Mixed humour into the tour as well. Well worth the trip.
Amazing place, do not miss the Cliffs of Moher. We really didn't see anything in Limerick.. The Burren was pretty but just a few minutes stop. However, you must see the Cliffs so since you are already out there, worth taking the trip. We did this tour in one day round trip from Dublin.
First - about the tour company. An absolutely top-notch outfit! The tour went on exactly as described, from the initial meet at the railway station all through the return. Very careful attention to detail and timing, our guide Brandon was superb and the other guides I happened to meet were all wonderful people with a ton of knowledge. If all you do while in Ireland is book with this tour company, you will not be disappointed at all.
Next - this specific tour. If you are like me, with just one available day in Dublin and want to get a taste for some other part of Ireland, this is a good tour. It hits the right points to get some culture and some scenery. But do bear in mind that a LOT of ground is covered, it's a very long day, and you will be spending considerable time on the train and in the coach. There's just no avoiding it. I was fine with it - but in reading other reviews I suppose some people are not. Know what you're getting! There were a few people on my tour who were actually taking a series of consecutive Railway tours and bringing their luggage with them. They all had glowing things to say about the experience. So if you have more than a day to spare, I'd suggest not taking this particular tour end-to-end but rather terminate in Galway and catch another Rail tour from there. But again, if you have just the one spare day, get out of Dublin and take this tour to see the countryside!
And also don't forget that the Rail tour company does not control the weather. As it turns out the weather at the Cliffs was miserable, the weather at the Burren was tolerable, but still Brandon made a happy day out of it and I was not disappointed. Great outfit and great tour as long as you are ok with the time spent in transit.
If you have the honor of Jonathan Beaumont as your tour guide you are in for a special treat. The best tour my wife and I have ever taken!!! Jon is the most knowledgeable, passionate and friendliest person ever. You don't just see the sites, you learn about them. The day was packed with awe inspiring sites, views and moments. The Doolin pub for lunch was perfection. Each stop had plenty of time and the trip never felt rushed. THANK YOU JON and railtours....our only regret is that we did not book railtours for our Cork/Blarney trip...we booked Extreme Ireland and it was a disaster! GO RAILTOURS, they are 1st class all the way.
