I took several day tours from a few different companies during my trip to Ireland, and this was my favorite. The guide was great! He gave us very interesting commentary both of current events in Ireland today as well as the relevant historical facts. Well worth the cost!
If you can only take one side trip from Dublin, This is the one! You will journey back into Irish History and Culture to the Neolithic Era. Our Guide and Driver, Harry Fisher made it all so easy to enjoy and understand. Harry shared a wonderful over view of the Irish past, and entertained us, along the way with humor, songs, and interesting facts and highlights.
It was an awesome tour. Our guide was highly entertaining, showing us some of the most memorable places in Ireland along with plenty of stories, making every second of the tour captivating. The staff at Newgrange visitor centre was very welcoming and caring, and the whole facility is actually more interesting than we expected. We definately recommend this tour!
Great tour guide Trevor and busdriver John. The tomb at New Grange was amazing. We loved the stop in the little village of Horwath.. Definetely worth the price of the tour. We enjoyed the day very much.
Great tour with lots of history, I am very glad we got to take this tour and get out of the city for a bit. From the ancient churches and graveyards to the rolling fields and mysterious Newgrange, this was an amazing tour.
I absolutely loved this tour! Just the right amount of time was spent at each stop. Hill of Tara is so peaceful. Newgrange was very interesting! Harry was an excellent bus driver/guide and kept us entertained the whole way there and back. I highly recommend.
Excellent trip. Our guide was extremely informative and a lot of fun! I also appreciated his level of conscientiousness in keeping track of us all! New Grange is not to be missed!
Newgrange was the absolute highlight of my entire week in Ireland. This tour was the best mix of culture and history. Harry, our driver/guide, as very informative and entertaining. I was on this tour solo, but met lots of nice people and had a great time. All in all, an excellent experience. Even the film that we watched on the way back to Dublin was excellent.
I enjoyed seeing Newgrange. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of time. Hill of Tara was also great and very informative. We ate lunch at the cafe at the Newgrange which was pretty good.
Hill of Tara is interesting and in a beautiful countryside. Newgrange is amazing and should not be missed if you are in Dublin and have the time to see it. More than 500 years older the the Pyramids in Egypt it is an amazing cultural treasure.
The day had gale force winds and flooding rains, but that is not the tours fault, the only thing I would mention is that when your waiting to see these attractions there is no undercover area? Which is very strange considering Ireland is known for its bad weather! So we froze in the rain and wind waiting to get into the monuments as they have limited numbers at a time. However, had the weather been nice it would have been a great tour!
Excellent tour. Michael, our guide/driver was very friendly and informative. Newgrange tour was awesome!
Our guide Harry was great! He was very knowledgable and entertaining. All together a great trip to many places in a short time.
Harry, our tour leader and driver, made this an amazing day - his extensive knowledge and great wit made this fun and painless learning !! I wasn't dressed as well as I should have been for the 'soft' Irish day, but I still had a wonderful time !!
Only wish tour included Knoth as it was so nearby !
I knew nothing of New Grange before this tour and I am so happy that I went to visit the site. It was incredible. From the moment we got on the bus in Dublin, our guide Michael was an absolute joy. It was a pleasure to listen to him recount the history of the sights we saw along the route to Tara and then New Grange. The sites are well kept and our New Grange guide Jackie was so enthusiastic about her subject. A great tour and a wonderful way to spend a day.
Our guide/bus driver Michael was great. He really enjoys his job and was very friendly and informative. The Newgrange guide was also friendly and accommodating of all our questions. It was a great experience.
A wonderful mix of cultureand fun! Our witty and caring driver-guide, Michael, gave us a lot of interesting pieces of information about everything happened to be on our way and some usesul tips (everything fully knowledgeable even for non-native speaking people...). Newgrange and Tara are, of course, mystical spots, but we enjoyed even the stops to say hello to the donkey or to watch Howth wonderful seals. On the bus the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and we had just the time to be on our own for a bit without getting bored. Highly recommended!!!
our tour guide was terrific. We were very happy with every aspect of this tour. New Grange and Hill of Tara were fascinating places, we are so glad that we didn`t miss the opportunity to see these amazing places.
Fantastic Tour! Harry, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and had a plethora of compelling information to share. Both sites are well worth the price of the tour individually, but Newgrange was absolutely one of the highlights of our entire trip to Ireland. The chance to go inside a structure over 5000 years old is an opportunity not to be missed. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dublin.
Excellent day! Great driver and tour guide. He made sure we had a great day out and shared his country's history very well.
