There were way to many people allowed in the tomb at each time which spoilt any feeling of history that may have been conveyed. The tour guide was uninspirational and it was rather obvious she was playing up to the American tourists on board in the hope of higher tips. Overall very disappointing.

There was confusion at the desk when we arrived at Newgrange. Although I did not mind switching the day around, I was not able to go into Newgrange because the agency had sent 25 people and they only allow 24 to go in. At first they told me there was no spot for my son, when I explained that I had paid for all four of us I was told that there had been a mistake in the counting and that we could not all four go in. I am sure it was because we had the only children in the group that we were told there was no room for my son. None of the other families were approached. The tour guide was very apologetic, but I still missed Newgrange as I would not leave my 7 year old with a stranger for two hours. My family was able to enjoy it, I had to wait at the gift shop for two hours.
