I was initially dubious about a walking tour it sounded like something my Granny would do but this was the best 2.5 hours we spent in Dubrovnik. Our tour guide was entertaining, knowledgeable and provided just the amount of detail to keep us engage throughout. He truly brought the fascinating and tumultuous history of Dubrovnik alive for us. I would highly recommend this tour as the first activity you undertake in Dubrovnik as it really sets the stage for the remainder of the visit.
very hot - but enough shade. Excellent trip and very informative. Do not miss it.
Highly recommended and a great way to get a ton of history in just a few hours. Dubrovnik is an amazingly unique town and the guide on this trip was incredible!
Tour guide was full of in-depth knowledge of the history of the wall, as well as the general history of Croatia. Kept a good pace for everyone. Gave us a quick history of the recent conflicts. Very friendly. Definitely recommend.
I'm typically not a fan of guided tours, but my wife and I booked a walking tour of the Ancient City Walls through Viator and I'm so glad we did.
The views of the city and Adriatic are amazing from up on the Walls, but our guidewho grew up in Dubrovnik, but spoke excellent Englishadded immeasurably to the experience.
She shared the history of the city and its walls as we walked, and also gave us plenty of more recent history related to Game of Thrones, which was fun. Our guide's name was Marija and, if you're lucky enough to get her, you're in for a treat!
My wife and I were actually the only people who showed up for the morning tour and, technically, our guide could have cancelled the vouchers for the tour stipulated a minimum of four participants. But, instead, she agreed to take just the two of us along the southern half of the Wall, which extends along the seait felt like our own, private tour, and it still lasted over an hour versus the typical two hours suggested for the entire wall. Given the high heat and humidity on this particular day, this half-tour worked out perfectly.
Even if, like me, you're not a fan of guided tours, this is one instance where it's absolutely worth the expense and effort.
Our tour guide Marco was fantastic. He was enthusiastic and extremely entertaining. I would recommend anyone who wishes to explore the city to book this tour as we enjoyed every minute - even in the extremely hot conditions. Thanks again Viator for choosing such great operators.
Awesome tour. To see Dubrovnik whilst learning about the history of the city and Croatia was one of the highlights of my time there. My guide was fantastic, full of knowledge and also very entertaining and funny. I unfortunately can't remember his name but he was brilliant. A must do in Dubrovnik!!
The tour was great! The information given by the guide was so interesting, we learnt so much about Croatian history. Better to book the tour than explore on our own, we wouldn't have known the significance of what we were seeing. Definitely reccommend this tour!!!
Our guide was very knowledgable and created a great expense . This tour is highly recommend.
Recent history is most interesting. Very good tour with lovely photo ops. We did have use of the headsets to hear our guide - worked well. Very lovely, clean town catering well to tourists. Bravo!
Our guide was very caring! Constantly making sure everyone was there so we didn't miss anything. Was very knowledgeable on most questions and we were particularly happy with how good her English was! I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone I know planning a trip to Dubrovnik.
Wonderful tour guide. Showed a lot of passion for the city and history.
Guide very knowledgable of historical events including recent war- very interesting
Well worth the money! Marko is a dynamic and knowledgeable guide and the views are just spectacular!
Our guide was personable and very knowledgeable about the city's history. This was a very interesting tour, and I highly recommend it.
The guide (Marko) was superb! We had a brilliant time. The best guided tour ever. We appreciated his presentational skills, deep knowledge of the history of the area and his diplomatic skills in retelling events from the past.
Marcus was a great guide, very knowledgeable, good pace, informative and he had a great sense of humor.
The Wall tour was amazing. The tour guide, Marco, was a true historian when it came to the Wall and the city of Dubrovnik. If you do one thing in Dubrovnik, this is it.
As Toastmasters, my husband and I are used to evaluating professional presenters and we both agree that Markos is a remarkably engaging and expressive speaker. His knowledge of Dubrovnik's social and economic history is second to none and he is rightly passionate and proud of his beautiful homeland. We took this tour on our first day and it was a great start to a great holiday - well worth the money.
Wonderful, engaging tour guide, a wealth of great information, the views are almost indescribably beautiful.
Great tour. The city walls are a beautiful monument and being able to walk all around is already an amazing experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a very good overview of Dubrovnik's history and the role the city walls took in old and most recent wars. Good value for money!
The tour was very good. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend this tour to any traveler. The guide was very informative and charismatic so it made the tour both interesting and fun. My only complaint is that Viator's website doesn't indicate that there is an additional fee of 100 kuna (30 kuna for students with valid student card) to physically enter the walls. Lastly, be sure to do the 5pm tour to avoid many people and very hot weather.
