What You Can Expect
When you come back down, you’ll go on a walking tour through Old Town, where your local guide will show you the city’s finest sights. Stroll around the narrow streets and soak up the history and culture of this magnificent walled city. The tour starts at the Pile Gate, where you'll see the circular Onofrio's Fountain, connected by aqueduct to a spring 7.5 miles (12 km) from town. Then see the Franciscan Monastery, containing a restored sculpture of the Pieta and a gorgeous cloister dating back to the 14th century.
Continue walking to Sponza Palace, a Renaissance palace that now houses the State Archives. Other highlights on this tour include Orlando’s Column, the City Bell Tower, the Rector’s Palace and the Church of St Blaise, the city’s patron saint. Continue across the main square, where you will visit Dubrovnik's Cathedral of the Assumption, a Baroque church built in the 18th century after an earthquake destroyed the original one.
Worry-free Shore Excursion:
We will ensure your excursion ends with ample time for you to return to Dubrovnik port for your ship’s departure. In the extremely unlikely event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.
Ana Ch. was a fantastic guide. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, answered all our questions.
My wife and I were completely satisfied. Make sure you ask for Ana!
Our tour guide (Maria) was excellent!! She was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. This is a great tour as you would never learn about Dubrovnik's history on your own. Please note that the walk to the cable car station is a bit strenuous. The rest of the tour is on fairly flat grounds. Because of where our ship docked, we had to pay for a shuttle to take us to the meeting point. Extra cost of 12.90 Euro per person, that we hadn't planned on. Still a better price than if we booked the same tour on the ship.
