What You Can Expect
Cross the border to Montenegro and travel along the picture-perfect Montenegro coast, typified by sweeping blonde-sand beaches. Pass the UNESCO-listed Bay of Kotor -- Europe’s southernmost fjord -- and then stop at the charming coastal town of Risan to stretch your legs and admire the seaside views.
Continue to the neighboring village of Perast, lying at the foot of St Elijah Hill, for a walking tour. Much of it was destroyed following an earthquake in the late 1970s, but the gorgeous village still exudes a very Baroque feel with its beautiful villas and churches. After exploring the town with your guide, take a boat ride to a small island close to Perast to see a magnificent 17th-century Baroque church called Our Lady of the Rocks (own expense).
Travel to Kotor, and then enjoy a walking tour of this beautifully preserved medieval town. Learn about the town’s important sailing heritage, having had its own merchant navy under the Byzantine Empire. Visit St Tryphon Cathedral, an elegant Romanesque building, and then enjoy some free time in the town to explore independently.
Hop back into your minivan and enjoy a coastal drive to Sveti Stefan, a small island city that juts out into the Adriatic Sea. Soak up the views and then head to the coastal town of Budva for lunch (own expense). Enjoy a couple of hours here at leisure, perhaps relaxing on its famous beaches or strolling around the pretty streets.
Meet your guide at the pre-arranged time and start your journey back to Dubrovnik, passing along the scenic coastal roads. Enjoy one last treat– a ferry crossing along the Bay of Kotor – and then finish your tour in the late afternoon back at your hotel.
Driver/guide was prompt, vehicle was brand new and immaculate, guide provided useful information and answers to all questions, and all key sites were visited with the fliexibility to allow our group of six to explore. Perfect trip and I would highly recommend it to others.
This tour was awesome. The guide Ana and the driver Ado, were the nicest person you could have to guide you. The different places we stopped were absolutely beautiful: Perast, Kotor, Budva, Sveti Stefan. If we would have done it by ourselves, we wouldn't even have done half of it. The border crossing were made really easy, we had enough time at each stop, it was truly a wonderful experience and a memorable day. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is staying in Dubrovnik !
Dejan was our driver and guide and he did a superb job. He was very helpful and sensitive to the needs of our group - and went above and beyond in assisting us, and making the trip enjoyable. He had great recommendations along the way, was very personable and on top of it all, safely returned us to our hotel in a torrential rainstorm that started when we were returning. He managed to navigate through flooded and winding roads with traffic in both directions at night. A real hero!!
A great day with a very pleasant and informative guide/driver.
Would fully recommend the visit.
The day went to perfection.
We had planned to visit Croatia for a wek but did not want to miss the opportunity to visit Montenegro as well. The private tour was our answer and it exceeded our expectations. And all 5 of us credit our driver/guide Filip
with making this trip a spectacular day. The scenic drive to Kotor via Persat was lovely as was our first stop in Persat. We had ample time to tour Kotor and had a lovely lunch in Budva. And of course we all drooled from a far the resort at St. Stephen's!! But what pulled this all together was Filip's knowledge of history and culture, which he freely shared, that brought this trip to life! Not only is he well versed in English but most accomadating to our wishes. And the next best part of the private tour after Filip is how easily we crossed the border as we did not have to use the main crossing that backlogs with all the tour buses. Don't worry about it being to long a day as Filip's timing of driving, walking or sitting in a square to people watch is impeccable. Highly recommend this tour and be sure to request Filip if he is available
Very pleasant experience. Comfortable bus, very good guide and tour started and finished in time.
It was a private tour for the 4 of us, our guide in Spanish Olga, was charming and professional, the only downside was the weather that we can not control, it was rainy most of the time.
our day trip to Montenegro was excellent. It was easy to book and nice that it was paid for before leaving home. Our guide Philip was right on time to pick us up at the arranged place and he spoke excellent english, and.was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice to be able to stop when we wanted for pictures and stay longer in a place if so desired.A private tour is the way to go and we would"nt hesitate recommending Viator to our friends and family.A specail thanks to Philip for a wonderful day.Penni and Arkell
