This was an awesome trip. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and held our attention while telling stories. He played a variety of music and stayed engaged with the group. He also was a safe driver. There was lots to see and plenty of time to stretch our legs along the way. Some highlights: were driving through Glen Sheil, spending the day exploring Skye, fresh Salmon in Dunkeld and stoping to see Glen Coe.
Some disappointments: I do wish we could have seen the inside of Eilean Donan Castle instead of just stopping to take a picture. Lock Ness was not as interesting a stop as we had hoped it to be and the train ride was just ok. You actually get a prettier view looking at the train than being on it.
All in all, I would highly recommend this tour. We covered a lot a ground seamlessly. My son (8 yrs old) had a blast and so did we.

We cannot praise this tour highly enough. Our driver Daniel was absolutely brilliant and regaled us with information and anecdotes, throughout the tour. The Hotel Rosedale in Portree was charming and delightful with excellent service from the smiling staff. The Jacobite train was fascinating and everything arranged by Highland Explorer Tours was first rate.

Excellent trip, well presented especially by the driver/guide by the name of Allen. Very knowledgable of Scottish and English history with added humor making his talks very entertaining. The Isle of Skye had a lot of interesting things to see.

Would highly reccomend this trip and the organizer (Highland Explorers). Our guide Daniel made the trip extremely interesting and we covered a wide range of sights in the Highlands. The steam train ride through the viaduct was truly a unique experience. Couldn't reccomend this enough!
