The tour was great and our tour guide was wonderful! Steven was well prepared, organized, and mostly funny. He kept up the good vibes and was also very knowledgeable about the area. You can really see his passions and love for his country and it was really inspiring. The scenic stops were beautiful!
It was marvellous, but a bit rushed at times, relaxed at others. We were hurried along by the hurricane from Newfoundland. That resulted in wild weather to add to the atmosphere. Local food was great, similarly a good pint of local beer. The scenery was spectacular and gorgeous. I missed only one opportunity to exit the bus to get outside, horizontal rain did not deter me or the others on the bus. The bus was clean and comfortable, the driver knowledgeable and informative.
What a wonderful experience! Everything was wonderful from the beautiful landscape to the informative guides. We not only saw the highlands, the Isle of Skye and all the signature sights, there were stories told by the guides to help us understand the history of the country. I would recommend this tour to anyone!
This tour was fabulous. We were lucky enough to have great weather the day we spend in Skye which allowed a perfect tour of the beautiful northern part of the island. Our guide was the highpoint of the tour: Stevie D'Sylva. He was super organized so that we had no problems with any logistics and very accommodating (he offered to pick people up or drop them, when the B and Bs where we stayed were a little too far out of town for some people to walk) and he had terrific stories. It was wonderful to learn so much about the history of Scotland, and all in a very entertaining, interesting way. Stevie also had great stories about the fairies and took us to a beautiful spot outside the town of Uig which indeed looked like a fairy paradise. I can't recommend this tour enough - what a great introduction to Scotland!
I really enjoyed the tour of the Highlands and Isle of Skye. Our guide, Peter, was very informative and had a wonderful story-telling technique. He drove the bus expertly while telling us stories and discussing what we were going to see. He made a special effort to get us into a whiskey distillery for a tasting. When the electricity was out on Skye the evening we were to arrive, he arranged for us to have dinner on the mainland before driving over. I learned a great deal about the Highlands and Skye on the tour. I will definitely take a Rabbies tour again.
We had a wonderful time and the weather cooperated very nicely. Our fellow travelers were very friendly and, best of all, were always on time! Audrey was fantastic and made sure that she enhanced our overall experience with appropriate stories about the lore of the Highlands. She made sure everyone's needs were met. I would recommend this trip to all my friends.
This tour was fantastic. Good lodgings, beautiful scenery and Ruth a fantastic guide. A wonderful experience I would highly recommend.
We loved everything about our tour! The comfort of the coach, the sights, the B and B we stayed in, and most of all, our tour guide, Emily. It was just right. Thanks Rabbie's!
Outstanding trip. Only wish was that the mist would have let up a bit during our day on the Isle.
Our trip to the Isle of Skye was a present to my husband for his 60th birthday. It was a very special trip, made so by Ruth, our guide, who was really fantastic. We loved the whole experience. The mini bus was very comfortable and it was good to meet our fellow travellers. The weather was fabulous and the scenery stunning. As the trip was well organised we felt we saw everything you would want to see.
The B and B in Skye was excellent- clean, views of the sea and an excellent breakfast.
The icing on the cake was when Ruth shared a wee dram with us all to celebrate my husband's birthday on the banks of a stream! We would highly recommend the trip and are planning to take our son and his girlfriend on the Islay whiskey tour next year.
Our three-day tour to Skye from Edinburgh was a fantastic way to see a lot of Scotland over the course of just a few days. Our tour guide, Ally, was an amazingly knowledgeable guide -- with seemingly boundless energy. He started talking to us as we pulled away in Edinburgh and didn't stop for three days! The knew the history behind every one of the sights we saw, with some really great local flavor. His knowledge of our tour route was equally impressive -- we saw a number of great locations that most tours wouldn't even have known about. While our day on Skye was certainly the highlight, days 1 and 3 were also fantastic -- with stops in the highlands (breathtaking) and Eilean Donan castle and Loch Ness on the final day. But Skye is magical... our hotel was right on the water in Portree and everywhere you look on Skye is another stunning vista. For anyone considering this tour you should know one thing: You're going to spend three long days on a bus -- and much of it on narrow, winding roads. It's a comfortable mini-bus and our tour was full of very nice people... but the tours pack in a ton of sights -- so expect to spend much more time driving than exploring. (It's not ideal for the easily car-sick.) But there's no better way, in my opinion, to see much of Scotland in only three days. You could never see so many things if you were driving yourself, that's for certain. And Ally was a consummate professional every step of the way.
Our authentic Scottish tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable about the area. He made an effort to learn about the people in the group first thing and was helpful and informative. Our accommodations were excellent on Skye with views of the lake and were within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in the beautiful town of Portree. Jamie is by far the best guide we have ha so far on any of the tours we booked for this trip.
We were in a small group of only 16, so it was a very interactive tour. Jamie, our driver and tour guide, really made the trip fun and very educational. The things you get to see are beautiful, if you're going to Scotland, I would say this tour is a must.
Our tour guide, Ruth, was fantastic. The stories were really great. The tour was a lot of fun. The seafood at Skye was some of the best we have eaten and I live in Florida. I chose to go on this tour, but my wife was not so sure. However, Connie thought the Skye tour was the best of our two week trip to Scotland and London. The tour had a good combination of bus and hiking. The bed and breakfast we stayed at was far better than we expected. The towns we stopped at were well chosen and very interesting. One note was that all the people on the tour except us (60s) were young (20s). This was not a problem because all the people were friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that visits Scotland.
I never thought myself to be a tour person - but my experience through Rabbie's has completely changed that. Experience of a lifetime - Scotland is one beautiful place! Highly recommended.
Loved the tour as a great introduction to the Scottish Highlands. Our tour guide, Emily, was fantastic! Made learning about the area fun and informative.
The 3 day Isle of Skye tour was great. We saw an amazing amount of places in 3 days. I loved the Isle of Skye it is very beautiful and so very green. Our driver Aiden was great - he gave us lots of information about Scottish history and the areas we visited and played a great mix of Scottish music along the way as well. I would recommend the trip to others for sure. My only gripe was that my B and B was a pretty long walk from the center of Portree and I did not have a map and walked alone. I was reimbursed for taking a cab back to the B and B after dinner in Portree the first night. It is more difficult to find a single B and B room. However the B and B itself was nice, the food was good and plentiful, and the hostess was very friendly. Overall it was a great trip - I plan on coming back again some day. I also enjoyed staying in Edinburgh a couple of days seeing the castle and going on a ghost tour a night :) I would have booked a ticket in advance to see the Military Tatoo if I had known about it ahead of time. They were sold out over a month in advance. I love old castles which is one of the reasons I had wanted to come to Scotland.
If you want to explore the Scottish Highlands, this is the way to go! We traveled on a very comfortable Mercedes bus and saw sights and experienced adventures we will remember for a lifetime. Our guide, Doug was amazing and a wealth of knowledge, relating many stories and history of the areas we traveled. We also got to know and bond with most of the wonderful and diverse people in our group of 16 which added much to the journey. There are many stop-offs during the trip for breaks and time to see the wonderful areas along the way. In Portree, we had excellent accommodations and found this to be a very enchanting seaside town with shops and excellent restaurants. The tour of the Isle of Skye was amazing and the sights and places we visited were incredible and adventurous. This is one trip that should be on everyone’s Top 10 Bucket List.
This was a wonderful trip and we would highly recommend it. Our tour guide Ruth was brilliant, she entertained us with marvellous stories of Scottish History and Scottish songs. Our accommodation at The Pink Guest Portree exceeded our expectations , absolutely super. Everyone very friendly, we were lucky with the weather and wish we could have stayed longer.
A10. The tour guide did everything possible to make the tour a success. The weather was rainy but it didn't "dampen" our enthusiasm. Tour guide very knowledgable, friendly and entertaining. Definitely worth it
