Our guide Brian was OUTSTANDING. The accommodations were first rate and the entire 5 days were memorable. We learned with all of our senses. Brian taught us Scottish songs, history, lore, and facts. He managed to provide us with sunshsine, wind, sleet, snow, fields of green heather, hairy coos and new born lambs. We will recommend Scotland and Highland Experience to all our fdriends We KNOW we received real value for our money. Thanks again for Brian.
I loved the small group experience with a good mix of people, 5 days was just right to see everything without rushing! Lots of stops for photos and walks, views are worth it! Thanks to our tour guide for his knowledge on the lore and history of Scotland, and the soundtrack to the trip, much appreciated.
Steve showed us an amazing variety of Highland sights, with colorful details on each one. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the region and its history. I almost feel like I know more about Scotland than I do about my own country! Steve's knowledge means that he can adjust routes and plans based on weather and road conditions, which is great. There was a lot of camraderie on the bus, and we all enjoyed the kilt and sword demonstrations, as well as our evening at the ceilidh and our distillery visit. The fact that the transportation, the itinerary and accomodations were all arranged for us by the tour company made for an unusally relaxing trip. All we had to decide was where to eat, and thhe food ranged from decent (in some of the remote stops) to excellent. Yes, it would have been nice to be in our own car at some points to be able to stop and look at some odd building or another, but we saw more through this tour than we ever could have managed on our own (especially driving on the left). I will say that a five-day bus tour on winding roads is not for those with a weak back or stomach, and if you're not interested in Scottish lore and history, you may want to look elsewhere. This is not a trip designed for pre-teen children or below, though there was one four-year-old with us who did amazingly well. We had used Viator before for day and museum tours, and here we were trusting them with our whole vacation. They didn't disappoint. Their main strength seems to be working with tour guides who are incredibly knowledgeable about their regions.
