This tour exceeded its publicity. We saw all that was mentioned and then more! Our exceptional guide, Stevie, had all history plus amusing anecdotal stories for us. It was absolutely the best time I had in all of Europe. Thanks Stevie and my fellow travellers Love you all! Will never forget these five days.
My wife and I loved Scotland! The trip was very well organized and the stops interesting. The B and B's were more pleasant than a regular hotel, particularly our stay in Oban. The only downside that I could mention, is that there was not enough time at most of the stops for my wife and I to take it all in. Forty-five minutes seems to be the average preferred time for most people, but if you really like to take your time with the history, you will only have about a third of the time you'd like. In spite of that, our guide, Carole, was stellar (she's a whole extra star all by herself). She should get a bonus and a promotion this year just for being so brilliant.
The tour was fabulous and the guide was super. The guide was so knowledgeable about the area that he was able to make changes to the itinerary when we ran into bad weather. My only problem with the tour was the B and B accommodations. The beds and bathrooms were horrible. My brother has a B and B in England. True, his is a 5 star, but I was not expecting what I received as a 3 star accommodation. I visited my brother after my Scotland trip. He tells me that the ratings really START at 3 star. There are none/few 1 or 2 star B and B's.
The trip was nice. The driver/guide is also great. he only short fall was, we booked for hotel accommodation, yet, the first night hotel was a B and B, not hotel. (Other couples in our group stayed in a real hotel.) After we complained to the driver/guide. the following 3 nights' hotel were fine.
