I highly recommend this as a first tour when you arrive...it is a great overview of the city. Loved it.
Gillian was an absolute delight! The tour was interesting, informative and filled with smiles and local color. Thank you so very much for a delightful experience!
Excellent tour with details I wouldn't learn on my own. Highly recommend.
Hannah did a terrific job of bringing Scotland's and Edinburgh's history to light.
I enjoyed my Edinburgh Historical walking tour of the Royal Mile very much! Our guide Hannah was great, well informed, friendly, warm and funny. I learned some very interesting details about the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle. Highly recommended!
Excellent tour hosted by Margaret. We saw lots of very interesting things that we had previously walked right past without noticing! Margaret's commentary was informative and pitched at completely the right level. We went into Edinburgh Castle where Margaret describe the various places of interest then left us to our own devices to explore. Timings given for the length of each bit of the tour were spot on. Really enjoyed it and have no hesitation in recommending it.
Hannah was Great! It was very apparent she enjoys and she was very good at engaging the group and creating interest in getting us to think about what we were seeing and learning.
Amazing tour! The guide was very knowledgeable and group size was not too large at all. We found the historical facts and legends about the Royal Mile and Castle very interesting and amusing.
Sue did a fantastic job. She is super knowledgable and kept the group involved and together not easy on a busy Royal Mile. I truly enjoyed this tour, but wear good shoes. The distance did not bother me, but the uneven rocks and paving made for sore feet at the end of the day. I completely recommend this tour.
Wonderful walk along and around the Royal Mile but also in the history of Edinburgh. Alex, the guide, was very knowledgeable and so artistic that made the tour really nice!
MIchael was terrific!!! He gave us a wonderful tour of Old Edinburgh, filled with enough history and charming stories. He did a great job getting us from one place to another with the crowds of the Fringe around us. Very enjoyable.
Sue was an excellent guide. She managed to get herself heard despite the festive atmosphere around. Enjoyed it very much.
Wendy was an excellent tour guide, showing her passion for Edinburgh. She knew how to keep the group listening to her many stories and history of this great town. I learnt a lot, especially the meanings behind many of our words and phrases - 'the loo' related to people in the olden days calling out above when they were to empty their 'slops' from above, 'daylight robbery' with the window tax implemented etc. Wendy was well prepared and carried a folder of photos and illustrations to support her stories and knowledge. Well worth the money.
The tour was great, Margaret did a wonderful job and her knowledge was exceptional. We were there on Sunday when Edinburgh was celebrating the Fringe. The streets were jam packed and Margaret knew her way around the crowds.
Margaret, the tour guide, was excellent.
She made the area covered come to life in a very unique way.
I would highly recommend this tour.
The cost was quite reasonable too.
Excellent and very informative tour. Our guide, Margaret was extremely knowledgable and kept us entertained throughout the tour.
The weather in Scotland can be changeable and this tour had it all. It started out raining then the sun came out then more rain and hail even but not 1 person left the tour. Our guide was so entertaining and he knew so much about the history of Edinburgh.
Very very interesting and well presented . Our guide Margaret was very informative, helpful and friendly and made it a lovely tour.
It was great! We only had two days in Edinburgh, so I'm glad we did this tour. It gave a quick history of Edinburgh and pointed out things we would've missed if we were on our own. I highly recommend it! We didn't add the Castle Tour, but I would. We ended up doing the Castle separately, but it would have been nice to have a guide there as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was interesting to find out things that are not commonly know about the Royal Mile. Although after several days of visiting Edinburgh my feet were aching nothing to do with this tour by-the-way. It is worth every penny!
a professional tour guide with extreme knowledge about the city and its secret, very nice tour, and very knowledgable tour guide
