I like this tour and recommend it. It all comes gown the guide though. I've taken this tour before and I like the last guide better.
Sev was a great guide and made the tour as much a history lesson as a guided tour can provide. We loved it and would recommend to anyone.
Guide very knowledgable and always attentive to the needs of her group.
Loved this tour! Our guide Francesca was an archaeologist to trade and knew her subject very well as you would imagine! My boyfriend and I got to the Colosseum early and decided to explore but the ruins that we were looking at took on an all together different meaning once we met up with our guide! She took us around everything again but this time it took on an altogether different meaning. Did you know that Mossolini bulldozed a massive fountain that sat outside the Colosseum for hundreds of years because it as in his way? Or that they used to flood the Colosseum and hold sea battles?? With ships and everything!! Amazing! And we would never have known these things without our wonderful guide, or managed to skip the horrendous queue! well worth the money.
Fantastic tour guide, Francesca, who is a historian and an architect and had herself discovered the remains of a marble statue of a horse on display in the Colosseum, or Flavian Amphitheatre, as we know it now!
Francesca is an excellent guide and used her passion for her subject to our advantage, and the time spent with her was great, very much enjoyable for my whole family. I thorough recommend city wonders, worth every penny. Amanda Jones
Our your was amazing! Our guide was very knowledgable and nice. He was also very funny which kept our tour interesting. I would not only recommend viator, but I would recommend him as well!! Thank you so much!
Great tour and guide but very tiring. Might be better to split this up so that one doesn't lose concentration at end
Organized and easy to meet up, on time, convenient and very interesting guide.
This tour is absolutely fantastic, our tour guide Alessandro was incredible! He was an archeologist and was therefore extremely knowledgable. He spoke English really well and answered any extra questions along the way. Well worth the money!
Alessandro was great! I enjoyed his commentary and the fact that he studied archeology and was seemly genuinely friendly. I was on my own and was comfortable with tour.
The tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. Very keen to answer any questions people had. He really gave a good feel for what life was like back in the ancient times. Also it was a really really hot day and he tried to keep us all in the shade as best as possible. Great tour!
very hot day, good we did early in the morning, but when we left the colosseum to outside walk that was a bit much as it was out in the open and the ground was burning your feet, we had to finish early, as it was a very hot day, if it wasn't so hot it would be great but you cannot help the weather
We had Francesca for our guide. She was so passionate, knowledgeable and proud of her Roma and the history that makes it what it is. It was an extremely hot day in August but she managed to find us shade when she could. I would not recommend going to the Colosseum and not doing a tour - you learn so much! The "Ancient Rome" part of the half day tour was just so cool - I may have liked that better than the Colosseum! It's sort of surreal to be next to artifacts that are 2,000 years old, and walk on an ancient Roman road. Definitely do this - it's 3 hours and it's worth it.
