Spectacle of a lifetime. This is something you will not find in the USA from my understanding. Go for it!
Amazing tour. The caves were awesome and our tour guide was great. We particularly liked the talk after our cave tour as it gave a great explanation of what we had seen.
These caves are a real GEM and a must see if in Te Anau.
Whole family really enjoyed it, much better than we were expecting, boat trip across the lake was great.
Great ride on the lake on a very fast catamaran followed by a exciting walk and boat ride in the caves viewing water falls and rock formations as well as glow worms.
Finally a video about the life cycle of a glow worm. All very professionally delivered.
This is really neat. If you can get it on sale, then the price is worth it, otherwise it's a bit expensive. You take a ferry over to the caves and go in a small group through. It ends with a Pirates of the Caribbean style boat ride through the Grotto in the darkness to see all the worms. Really cool!
We had a wonderful experience - starting out from Te Aunu late in the day on the calm water was just wonderful. The glowing worms where spectacular and the silence in the caves wonderful. Certainly worth the visit.
A highlight of my trip to Te Anau, one of the best places I have ever visited. A unique trip into a cave system hidden from view. Kids loved it and the experience is one I will never forget.
I took my two girls, 18 and 8. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! The ferry ride over and back was awesome and very informative and friendly. The caves were spectacular, better than I remember from back when I was about 8. They are amazing creatures and to be able to see them in the unique way the tour takes you is really special. I would highly reccommend this journey to anyone.
We took the night tour in late May. It was cold and wet, but a really interesting experience.
30 minute cruise on the lake to access the cave complex. The glow worm experience was 15 minutes walk through the caves and a 15 minute boat ride in the caves in a group of 14 maximum. Short presentation with explanation in the visitors centre. Be aware no photographs are allowed within the caves. The cave complex is incredible with waterfalls and rushing water below the purpose built walkway through the chambers. The boat ride was really relaxing as you circle the main glow worm chamber in the dark. The guide was really friendly with excellent knowledge of the caves and a real passion for the place. We would recommend the late tour to experience the stars on the return trip on the lake we could even see the milky way. If you are in Te Anau I would definitely make this one thing that you do.
The whole experience was most interesting including gliding in a flat bottomed boat in complete darkness. The information session was, well, very informative.
Was everything I expected. As described in promotional materials.
A must when visiting Te Anau. Glow worms looks like stars in the sky. Great initial boat trip across the lake
Absolutely brilliant - boat trip was magical, especially our return around 9.00pm - and the tour of the caves was excellently organised with an informative verbal introduction and a further show with slides to conclude. And as for the caves - well just don't miss the opportunity!!
