Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
This attraction is one that should not be missed. I suggest you arrive in Te Anau by 1 PM on the day before your trip to the Milford Sound. Take the afternoon tour to the cave. Then leave early the next morning for the Sound. The 11 AM tour there is less crowded. Plus the roads, in the winter can be uncertain and there is no need to rush!
Trip me and my two boys wont forget. They were worried going into the cave, but after comming back out they wanted to do it again!.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Quite unique. Would have loved it to be even longer though!!
A brilliant trip, the boat trip out to the caves was a unexpected bonus. The staff were very informative and well organised so as we all got to see the caves, waterfalls and of course the glow worms
Really worth seeing - very knowledgeable guides and the trip across the lake in the early morning was beautiful too.
We really enjoyed this excursion into a very dark cave. The DOC in NZ have found a way to allow access and increase understanding of a fascinating creature without compromising its environment too much. Very well done. A lovely end to our time in Fiordland
Amazing trip though more exciting than most! Had to duck low to get into the caves and then walk over rushing water on a wire grid. Boat trip in the caves was great absolute silence and dark except fit the go lowers.
This was great - a must see ... but take some insect repellent ... the sandflies or whatever they are were vicious ....
Really interesting trip. The underground cave trek through the caves over the loud cascading water is as good as viewing the glow worms. Highly recommended you check it out.
The cruise to the caves was beautiful and the tour guide was great! It was an interesting and informative experience. Thank you!
Great tour experienced and very knowledgeable guides. Well worth the trip was spectacular in the caves. I highly recommend.
Excellent tour, guide was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed it a lot. Would have liked to video, take photos of some of the caves where there were no glow worms.
We first went on this tour when they had a tiny little boat, and were still under construction. Now with the new boat and things finished it was a great way to show our friends the glow worms of New Zealand. Thanks for a great time.
Fantastic, more time in the cave would have been nice and to ben able to take photo's using night shot only would also have been nice.
More I need not say, my wife and I found it fantastic, we highly recommend this activity at Te Anau.
Our glow worm tour was wonderful! We went at night and the guides were vibrant and informative! The trip across the lake was beautiful also! The highlight was the meditative darkness in the cave boat in complete silence. A true moment of beauty and clarity! Highly recommended!
You must take this tour. I have never seen anything like this. The tunnel of glow worms is so unique. If I'm ever here again I will definitely do this tour again.
Spectacle of a lifetime. This is something you will not find in the USA from my understanding. Go for it!
Amazing tour. The caves were awesome and our tour guide was great. We particularly liked the talk after our cave tour as it gave a great explanation of what we had seen.
These caves are a real GEM and a must see if in Te Anau.
Whole family really enjoyed it, much better than we were expecting, boat trip across the lake was great.
Great ride on the lake on a very fast catamaran followed by a exciting walk and boat ride in the caves viewing water falls and rock formations as well as glow worms.
Finally a video about the life cycle of a glow worm. All very professionally delivered.
This is really neat. If you can get it on sale, then the price is worth it, otherwise it's a bit expensive. You take a ferry over to the caves and go in a small group through. It ends with a Pirates of the Caribbean style boat ride through the Grotto in the darkness to see all the worms. Really cool!
