Excellent way to experience Le Cinque Terre. Price was right, guide was excellent, meal option was delicious! Loved it.
Our tour guide was fantastic and the tour was brilliant. We had an
incredible time, it was everything we imagined it to be. Our tour guide
was hilarious and had a great personality which made the experience even
better. We loved it, so happy we did it. I would recommend this to anyone, the Cinque Terra is a must see and if you're short on time this is the perfect option.
Great tour. We were given plenty of free time at each village and it was a lot of fun.
Our tour to Cinque Terre was just amazing. Really well organised, our tour guide Stephan was great. We had a fantastic day. We had ample time at each of the four towns. Would highly recommend this trip.
Great guide and great scenery. Food was amazing. Water was refreshing. Needed just a little more time in some of the lands.
What a beautiful place. Our bus ride was good. The trains between the villages were very crowded. We had a very rainy day, so could not get on the boat. I wish the tour guides were explaining a little more about the history of this place.
We visited 4 villages at Cinque Terre and the trip was 12 hours long and an extremely hot day. Involved a 2 and 1/2 hour bus drive to Manarola the first village and time to look around at each stop. Riomaggiori by train. Boat to Monterossa. Train to venazza. Then train to La Spezia to catch the bus back to Florence which took 2 hours. Quite a scenic route..
Seeing the villages by boat is a must.
We found it was good to do the trip this way as trying to work out th e schedule ourselves was too hard.
We chose the lunch option which was highly recommended. Basil pesto pasta was delicious.
The guide was good at getting us to each village on time but we expected more information on each place and that was not supplied.
If you have limited time to visit then this is a good option.
This was a great way to see Cinque Terre if you don't have time to hike there. Our guide was very well organised, there were a lot of people on the trip and we had to do a lot of moving round from village to village but he explained meeting points and transportation well. We had long enough in each place to have a wander round and take some photos. The village we stopped for lunch, Monterosso, had some lovely beaches. I didnt do the lunch option, instead got a sandwich and had much longer on the beach but from what others said the lunch was good.
Was really looking forward to this trip but sadly we cannot recommend it - the boat was taken off ( nobodys fault) but this meant that we were at the mercy of the local train service and spent most of the time waiting on station platforms for very crowed trains. Tour rep very good tried her best but with 60 people on crowed trains trying to round everyone up during 5 different destinations and not loose anyone was a nightmare. Save your money and another trip. We took our 2 sons (17 and 14) really bad decision.
This was the 5th tour I had booked through Viator and the other 4 were 5/5, however, this trip fell way below the standards we had grown to expect. Firstly, the bus came to pick us up in the morning and the AC was not working so we went to get another bus. Considering we had already lost 30 minutes of a tightly scheduled trip, you would have hoped our guide would want to get the tour on its way, but she needed to have a smoke while we all waited on the bus.
This was basically a self-guided tour, the guide only needed to set meeting times and places. This is where the 1 star comes into play, she did not give the group specific instructions. Resulting in the group to look to each other to figure out times and meeting places. She even lost a gentleman along the way and that was in no way his fault.
I was hesitant to book this tour, as the previous reviews were not strong. The area was magnificent and we loved that we could explore on our own, but some guidance is required when you are traveling from village to village by boat or train.
Due to the bus issues in the morning we had very limited time in two of the villages and then our tour ended earlier than the 7-8:00 time we were told. The saddest part of all is we did not learn one new thing about this beautiful area.
To start with at 645am everything was disorganized from which bus to take to the tour guide who seemed disoriented. Secondly, a tour must be educational and I expected the guide to provide some information about the places we are visiting including a map but she just pointed out where we were going and except for the beautiful scenery this tour will be much more if we had a better guide.
